So there I was Saturday afternoon, trolling the aisles of my local Lowe's home improvement megastore here in Milford, picking up some parts for my continuing rainbarrel project. As I passed by the birdseed and turned right towards the hose section, a familiar sound came over the PA. It was Liam's "Second Chance"! Good music in a home improvement venue? Who knew!

The song played all the way through, albeit interrupted several times with, " I need the MOD at the customer service desk please."

Last night I heard "Energy Spent" in a grocery store--one I don't normally frequent, and it started right after I entered the store. I heard the opening drum lick (which sounds like Neil's "Tokyo" anyway, so it's not automatically guaranteed to be Liam's song), and sure enough it was his song. As I was browsing the produce I was singing it out loud and proud and snapping my fingers. Big Grin

Energy Spent and Second Chance get regular airplay over the PA where I work (Home Depot), but recently another unexpected Liam song was played.......now which song was it???!!! If memory serves, it may have been Gather to the Chapel, but now I don't remember for sure.

Not at a public place, but an office mates computer actually. I heard the first cut "Better to Be" from his cd. I had walked over to hand him a report. He started to lower the volume and I told no, I don't mind Smiler

Right...totally borrowed from Tokyo (love that song). I would be even more shocked if I ever heard Tokyo over a PA!

Add another: Delta Airlines!

If it wasn't cool enough that Delta actually has a direct flight from Hartford CT to LA (albeit on the chopping block), this month their in-flight programming includes "Second Chance"!

It's Channel 12, Delta Showcase, featuring a tribute to Yep Roc Records. And Liam aside, a great mix of music.

I stopped in my tracks at Zellers today when I heard Liam's voice, and I recognised "Energy Spent". It was a very happy moment.

I'm thinking that perhaps there are compilation CDs which department stores can buy to play on the floor, and perhaps that accounts for the Home Depot, Lowes and Zellers incidences. Hmmm. Must remember to hang out in Zellers and listening for "Second Chance" to confirm my hypothesis.

I thought I had heard something at Kohl's. For a while, Fall at Your Feet would play every time I entered the store...and then I heard Transit Lounge, which was really surprising.
Nice to hear them at the store...but much better to see them in person.
I hope he makes it back to the US soon!

Energy Spent played last week at the Burlington Mall, and it's not the first time I've heard Liam on their P.A. system. Considering the exposure he gets in Canada (selective at best) I figure that somebody at the Mall likes him.

It's been posted already, but we too heard "Energy Spent" whilst in the aisles of our local supermarket. Always a delight...

Can't remember the song now, but I remember grooving away to Liam on City Homicide earlier this week ... until I could return to the room to change the channel, though that made me hurry less!

Maybe not an unexpected place, but "Gather to the Chapel" was played on "Grey's Anatomy" last night - in a scene taking place in (wait for it...) a chapel!

One of the less inspired music-to-scene matches for that show, but still a decent bit of exposure...

Shopping at the local grocery as well, Tuesday, I think, (a big chain, Kroger's), and Second Chance was playing! My kids noticed simultaneously and I said "the five of us are the only ones in the store that know this song!"

Of course, we sang along. Smiler

Caught that as well last night and completely agree. Pitifully literal but wonderfully welcomed.

Unlike Grey's Anatomy, I've yet to be bored by any track from IBL!

Caught "Gather To The Chapel" on Gray's of course, and then was pleasantly surprised to hear "Second Chance" on the United States of Tara on Showtime's latest episode!
