Sitting in the neighborhood Italian joint (brick walls, red and white checked tablecloths) where we always have a nice mix of Sinatra and Sinatra-era pop with Italian pop songs when an Italian cover of Don't Dream It's Over starts playing. My friend looks at me and laughs "I was wondering when you were going to notice." I don't think that's even a translation. I think dude just wrote a new set of unrelated lyrics in Italian.

For one thing, I sure don't recall any mention of any "cigarettay" in the first verse...

I could only sit through a minute or so - I have a very low tolerance for cringeworthy performances - but was also wondering about the translation. Do we have any Italian-speaking Frenz?

I'd love to hear a translation as well. I bet the only thing in common in the melody.

I will say that the repetition throughout of the tune that normally goes in the organ solo works. I wouldn't suggest that the original would be improved by that move, but it works to the benefit of this arrangement.

Today I persuaded the powers-that-be at work to change the Muzak station to the "80's-90's mix" again, and I heard "World Where You Live"...I danced in our little kitchen/break room.

I work for a national chain of womens clothes- J. Jill- and we get a pre-formatted cd every month. Mixed in with the Stevie Wonder & Jennifer Lopez there is usually a Finn related tune...last month was Tim's "Couldn't Be Done" and before that it was Jimmy Buffet's cover of 'Weather w/ You". Always makes 8 hrs. go a little faster

That Italian cover sounds pretty awful. From the little Italian I managed to understand, I gather it's not a literal translation.

Where I work I always hear Don't Stop Now, Weather With You and Brooke Fraser's cover of Distant Sun.

I always start singing and customers get freaked out... It's funny.

I always hear DDIO & FAYF at the shopping mall too. It's pretty cool.

Does CBC Radio One count as unusual? It's talk format, and my husband constantly has it on in the background. I was upstairs in my office and heard the unmistakable sounds of Fall At Your Feet, so of course I raced down to find out why CBC was playing it. (To accompany the announcement of the concert, apparently.)

At the end of a radio interview/performance with Sheryl Crow. She was asked by the interviewer to pick the next song, and chose Nobody Wants to. Mentioned touring w/ CH in the 90s and that she's still a big fan.
