Ugh! Something possessed me to think that it would be a good idea to listen to this again before i posted . Beleive me, not a good idea . I've already had a say about this cover on another thread somewhere before i knew about this one, but my opinion of it has in no way improved. HOWEVER. I have come up with a similarity between th music of Neil Finn, and that of James Blunt (who'd a thunk it?). Dont rush to pelt me with stones, wait til you hear what it is and judge for yourself; The similarity is that the music of both these men creates a twisting sensationin my stomache. The differece is the the one created by Neil is a nice, gaspy sensation, and the one created by Blunt is a 'i think i'm going to be sick, this is painful' sensation .

??? I'm by no means James Blunts biggest fan, but I don't see what all the vitriol is all about. The cover is ok, if a bit odd because he sings it faster than Neil does. But that tends to be what happens with covers - artists change it to suit their style.

James Blunt really isn't my kinda muso. To be perfectly honest, whenever I've heard him open his mouth all I've heard is dribble. Good on his for his success. I find it amazing that he's done so well! If I was to give advice to Mr Blunt here's what I'd say. "Please, leave the singing to people who actually have a voice and don't try to cover someone who is respected in the community, you'll only butcher a classic."

It's SHOCKING. And that's an understatement. Listening to it, I could almost see Neil at home crying because James basically murdered the song. I was nearly crying myself. It's reallyyyyy bad.

lol I remember saying something about this on a crowdies thread... didnt know there was a whole thread about it here!! Personally, I think a couple of ppl have jumped on the bandwagon of hating it, but I didn't think it was as bad as wanting to make me vomit or anything, just too rushed for my liking... especially "the finger of blame..." part of the song. I actually saw the episode of the OC it was in, and remember laughing for ages at the guy toppling off the cliff and literally falling at Marissa's feet
