In addition to Slow Motion TV from Other Enz, I found a copy of Southern Cross by Phil Manzanera in my local second hand record store. This is quite a bit later than the K-Scope album with Slow Motion TV on it, but again Tim is a collaborator on the album. And the tracks he sings are just awesome...his voice suits wonderfully. Rich and Poor and Verde are great songs.

Ah, Manzanera and Timbo. Match made in heaven. Hell, Tim could have replaced Bryan Ferry as singer of Roxy Music!

Mmmm, I have to say my hubby wanted both those albums with Tim on, we got them and both thought they were, well - awful. Well, certainly too dated anyway.

Have you heard K-Scope, AGM? Great album, if only for Tim's vocals. I frequently listen to all 4 Tim tracks in one go!

I was really blown away by some of the tracks on Southern Cross, especially lyrically (for which we have Tim to thank in many cases, as it was primarily an instrumental album before he came along). Another one to keep an eye out for is The Manzanera Collection, which has some duplication but also has a live version of Charlie.

Yeah - Southern Cross as an album is ok - but if you really want to hear Tim Finn(vocals) and Eddie Raynor(keyboards) at their best - get a copy of the Manzanera 801 Album.

Actually, Hunter, that image you've posted is of Listen Now (one of the 2 images for it anyway) but thanks for pointing out the one that escaped me the other day (I knew there was another, just not working from home it's not so easy to check), tis indeed a great album. Also good point - Eddie Rayner is indeed on both it and K-Scope.

I knew there had to be a thread about Southern Cross somewhere! Smiler It does have some excellent songs on it. I agree with you AGM - Verde and Rich & Poor are the standouts for me.
