May be of interest to some, not sure if already posted elsewhere; Lisa Germano is starting a European tour, various countries, this week. It includes two UK dates this week - Bristol The Cube on Friday 10th November and London, The Luminaire on Saturday. A full list of dates is on her website www.lisagermano.com

I saw her here in Chicago a few weeks ago - she was great, but the show was very sadly underpopulated. In a venue that probably holds 150 tops, there were maybe 30-40 people there. There were actually more people there for the opening act (Via Tania) - when my friend and I moved up to settle in for Lisa (everyone was sitting on the floor) the crowd behind me were asking us if there was another act. We told them to stick around!

She was on her own with a friend who provided some backup electronic accompaniment. She is NOT playing violin on this tour, just guitar and keyboards. The show was short, only about an hour, but I'm not sure if that's by plan or due to the late hour of the show. It WAS very late, she didn't come on until midnight, but those that stayed seemed pretty intent on her music, it was very, very quiet while she played. She apologized more than once about the lateness of the show.

Sadly, there was no encore, but it was a bit awkward, they came off and stood right by me (there being no actual backstage at the venue) so people came up and starting talking to her straight off.

If you like her music at all, show a little support if she comes to your town, it's a cheap ticket, and she really is a unique artist!
