Getting Somewhere

For anyone who's got this album:

Is "Sacre' Bleu'" (on Other Enz) representative of the average quality of Eddie's songs on Horse? If so, I may want to buy the album. If it's far and away the best track, I might think twice.

Thanks!

Bump!

(Sorry Silke, but if people don't see my subject line in the list of forums, I suspect I'll *never* get an answer to my question, obscure as it is.)

I really enjoyed eddie's horse.
Sacre bleu is the standout track, but most of the songs are pretty good.
It's hard to describe as it is creatively all over the place mixing ambient/techno and new age.
Eddie's skill and abilty definately shines through though.
You will either love or hate 'savoir faire' a 6 min remake of albert of india that goes from dance to jazz to distortion. (I think the enzso version of albert is best.)
It's interesting to hear eddie without the influence of the finns/judd.
looking forward to hearing his new cd, hopefully out soon

I really dig 'Horse'...Sacre Bleu is probably the best song, but I can listen to the whole Cd all the way through and not skip a track.
Eddie's a genius..what can you say?If you like Sacre Bleu,I'd definately recommend you pick up 'Horse.'I really groove on Savoir Faire...and I can't wait for his new disc as well, but what I'd love to see Eddie do is an entire Cd of him just at the piano.Originals...covers..whatever.That's his true gift, and as much I as enjoy his synth work etc...it just doesn't compare to the expression he gets from the piano. But that's just my opinion.

OK, now for the really hard part - where can you buy it? Can you still get it? I've tried all my regular online stores with no luck. Any ideas?

I bought a brand new cassette in Auckland for 97 cents a few months ago.

It was almost worth it.

Yeah I usually don't like Eddies stuff but HORSE is good....not sure why, just so many
interesting bits!!!
We had signed copies at the Enzso shows,
I have a feeling Sony have deleted it...best bet in NZ second hand cd store...maybe Real Groovey in Auckland can help......
All Frenz club copies sold out as well I'm afraid. Eddie has recorded his next solo release.....think it's a June release.

Hi there - just saw the posts re "Horse" and thought I would put my spoke in.... They are most definitely available, and will soon be for sale on Eddie's website which is currently under construction. However, as for getting hold of copies which can be posted off to all you keen folk, I am currently following up on whether it is best to contact Eddie's current manager who can distribute them, or whether Eddie himself wants to come into the Forum and make a "comment" or 3, and perhaps distribute them to you all via some other means.

As for the CD, it is very very good - one of my favourites in fact. The more I hear it the more I like it, and as van says, it is impossible to describe, almost a genre of it's own..... Eddie's musical and technical skills literally come together on it, awesome stuff. Hopefully Mr Rayner himself will post something shortly about how it was done, on what, and why.... fingers crossed.

Watch this space though.

Righty pples - quick update. I have access to a small bunch of "Horse" CD's (which I will undertake to get signed also, so they will be a good one for the Enz collections!). Email on gwatling@wave.co.nz, can discuss how to get them to you and cost including postage. Will only be a limited number, and there will be a few going up for sale on Eddie's website, I would imagine, when it is up and running - if there are any left to put up for sale at that point. But if you can't wait for the website and want a signed one(could be a coupla months away yet, at least) get in touch.

Cheers, y'all....

What a great cd!!!!!!! Completely different, and well done. I usually don't like instrumental stuff but this was fantastic. The initiation songs are great, actually the whole thing is great. Job well done Eddie, I can't wait for the sequel.
