Does anyone know what the name of the song Bic Runga sang in French in her recent tour? Well she sang it anyway when she played in the Village in Dublin. I really enjoyed it.

The gig itself I really enjoyed, weird shaped venue and it was packed. Quite a few Kiwi voices in the crowd, surprise surprise! She seemed happy to be there and said Ireland was the only place outside NZ ( though I'm sure she meant Oz aswell) that she has found an audience. The biggest gasp of the night was the reaction to her short hair!

Meant to add that Nick Seymour was there on the VIP balcony too

Hi Mary Ann

How's things in Dublins fair city? Did you go for pre-concert drinks in the Long Hall?

I saw Bic in the Carlng Academy in Liverpol last week and thought she was fantastic - she's so petite and the short hair looked great!

She came on stage on her own at first to do a couple of solo acoustic numbers - apparently one of the band was still in an indian restaurant down the road Smiler

Seemed to be mostly full of Kiwis and Australians in there with only the odd Liverpudlian that I could hear.

I think the french song was called something like "Non Maki Pa" - at least that's what it sounded like but as my french amounts to asking for a cup of coffee and a chocolate croissant I couldn't be sure. (I think she said the translation was "don't leave me" or "don't Go" or something like that.

Anyway a good night was had, I would say the Beutiful Collision material got the best reaction but then as she said herself the new album is a bit depressing and subdued so not really singalong stuff.

The right title is " ne me quitte pas" , don't leave me in english. There are many covers of this song written by Jacques Brel, well known belgium singer died in 1978.

His grave is in an unknown polynesian island named Hiva Oa Wink
