Yes we must be the same age AnnieMay. I loved all that era of music as well. Everytime I listen to Crowdies, Hunters, James, Paul Kelly it brings a smile to my face and I feel like I am 15 again. I love it. There will always be a special place in my heart for music like this.

I also forgot to add that for them, it's all about their passion for music...and that's what makes them so great!

Oh David I didnt mean you wouldnt love them because you were younger than me! Smiler I was just thinking I was around, like I was a music obsessed teenager, when those guys first came on the scene. I just feel really lucky to remember hearing about them as 'new' artists you know? Like I used to *love* hearing my Mum tell me about Elvis and stuff because she was *there* when it all "happened", y'know? It's like my generation of music or something though obviously I would agree with you in principle about it being timeless. SmilerThat's what makes them all so good I guess. Smiler

Anyone whose interested, Nick was in a new Irish movie, 'Trouble with Sex' (2005). In the movie, the lead actress sings a version of 'Fall at Your Feet', and Nick accompanies her on guitar, from what I've heard.
Anyway, it would be good to see it... Smiler

everyone has forgotten about Nick and how he may be coping with everything that has happened.Maybe thats a blessing he's been left alone by the press.I think its really tacky when so called 'friends' spill their guts to the press after something tragic happens.
Stay strong Nick and remember the good times.Do you think he reads these things?

Well, michelle, I don't think we in the forum have forgotten about Nick. I know I'm always taking about how he's going and hoping that he's ok. I honestly wished I could do something for them, like their music, etc has done for me.
On the MAX Sessions Australian Icons, Mark Syemour dedicated 'Throw Your Arms Around Me' (which Crowded House played often as a cover) to the memory of Paul, 'a dear friend of my brother, Nick'. I thought that was cool.
I also wonder whether Nick reads things in the forum. It seems like being in Crowded House was the best time of his life so maybe...

Yeah, I guess like any of us who've had a great job and lost it through no fault of our own it takes a while to get over it and find a new direction, but Nick seems to have come thruogh o.k.I mean it was nearly ten years ago!Sadly! I feel so OLD!I saw them everytime they played in Adelaide. The first time only about 200 people were there! We went out of curiosity, being old Split Enz fans and all.It was probably the best show I ever saw them do because it was more intimate, they got people up on stage and seemed to having a great time.I know we did.got a little drunk that night!

Nick is ok, all things considered and he spends most of his time in Ireland. It's also part of the reason why we know so little of what he is doing.

I know Neil and family hung out with Nick when they were last in Dublin, in fact we all usually do when we visit...Nick played with the Finns in Ireland....and as you all know at the Royal Albert shows.

He's a bit slow at getting back- email wise, so a lot of our Nick reports are usually from when he comes home or someone else passes on the info. He was playing at a show in Cork the night when I had to call him with the sad news about Paul...so he obviously does play every so often, and I know he produces a few bands too.

Cheers
Gryph.

Thanks so much for the update, Gryph! Smiler It's good to know Nick is ok and well. Sounds corny but as a fan you just can't help but think about how he's doing and just be there and support him and Neil and everyone else...

Thanks for that update Gryph, I was in Ireland a few years ago and was having such a good time no one here heard from me for weeks!
I you get lost in your own little world when your away from home, if my sister did'nt call me

Glad to know Nick's doing o.k. for himself, he never did have as much to say as Paul and Neil.
