Something So Strong
Posted
I saw Ed Harcourt a couple of days ago playing in support of Beth Orton. I have his 'Here Be Monsters' cd but wasn't sure what he'd be like live - having read several very negative reviews in a previous thread on here concerning his support of Neil on US tour.

He was playing with his band and, despite coming across as very reserved (hiding behind his hair and saying very little), I enjoyed his performance a lot Smiler Only criticism was that the sound quality during his set wasn't great.

I'd certainly pay to see him again!!!

Big Grin Oh, yeah....kewl!!! Another Harcourt debate!!! Hehehe...lol... Razzer Once again, all-in-all, I give him a thumbs up...

Main reason I'm posting, tho...on the last episode of THE REAL WORLD/LAS VEGAS (I know, I know, I'm a total cheeseball, but I've been watching this tripe for 12 years and I'm NOT stopping now!!!)....ED HARCOURT'S music was being played in the background! Wink

the real world....12 years now????? please say it ain't so.....no, it can't be, it really can't be...but that's another thread, yes...

slightly back onto ed harcourt. i saw/ heard him for myself for the first time 7.19.02 (yea, neil! double yea! for me for travelling so far but again ANOTHER thread!! Razzer )

i was so not disgusted as the threads and mailing's prior to my "witnessing" prepared me to be for ed's performance.

again...i am not one who generally cares about hair + clothing x attitude = image ... as long as somewhat good tunes (in spite of a lackluster soundsystem) and initial intention make their way forward. ed did good for cryin out loud!

the reason *i* posted was remembering a quote from billy idol waaaaaay back when that has stuck with me to this day....and will probably be in my eulogy as i'm scattered somewhere....something to the effect of "i'd rather annoy people than bore them"

kinda like better to burn out than fade away.

Cool on ed for initiating threads, months after opening for neil...anyone remember ebba forsberg? zzzz......

ps...this is another yea not ney ed topic so far. underdog rules!! Razzer Wink Smiler
