I picked up a cheap second-hand copy of this today (minus its free 5 track CD, grr!!!...if anyone has a spare copy they wish to sell, let me know). Has anyone else here read it? It's interesting to say the least. I love Mike's writing style...so much feeling, thought and emotion, so evocative.

Yep,I agree...it's a very nice read.Mike's style of writing seems to be both sensitive and sarcastic at the same time.I have the Cd that came with, but I really don't want to part with it.My favourite part has to be when he tells how he and Eddie dressed in drag and went to a Sherbert concert..his descriptions of his "sturdy pair of 34B breasts..and...comfortable quota of lipstick",and Eddie's "thick legs..and whopping 36D" chest is perfect.Really makes me wish I could've been a fly on the wall for that one..

The book as a whole seems to be amusingly interesting. I liked the part where he's talking about his days in pre-Enz group Moses with Enz lead guitarist Wally Wilkinson, and then, later talking about the Enz in London in 1976 and his experiences there. Have to laugh at his way of writing about his agoraphobia. He calls it 'Aggy'. A great mix of seriousness, sarcasm and humour.

Did I miss it..or does he explain why he's also called "Albie?" I also dig the chapter names....BOMPF! and Swisch Swisch are particularly amusing.
