I'm loving "I'll Be Lightning".
On my first listen through, I couldn't help but catch the connection between Liam and dad Neil ... but there was something else too. MANY times throughout, Liam's voice, music and delivery reminded me not of Neil Finn but of another favorite of mine: Michael Penn. I searched the forum for a topic on this fine album, and didn't find one. And since Liam toured with the Crowdies, this seemed like an okay place to start. Thoughts? |

Who is Michael Penn, could you please explain?

Obviously he's a musician, but his brothers are actors Sean (ex Mr. Madonna) and Chris. Michael's first hit was "No Myth," which is a great song. I don't know much else of his work, sadly, but he's highly acclaimed.

Liam's IBL album sounds like Sean Lennon's Friendly Fire LP in my ears, which I randomly scooped up on eBay quite cheaply.
