Fatboys rocks to sound of music
Tuesday, 10 June 2008

A dinner dance is held at Fatboys Resort on Babanga island off Gizo town.
The band We are Sheep (as pictured, Neil and Tim Finn with ‘Disco’ Dave Holder) played for six hours.

They featured music from the 60s to the 90s, culminating in Dave Holder doing a rendition of a more contemporary kind, Da Hood Boogie.

Gizo and Noro residents lapped up the music and danced until the early hours of the morning.

Money from ticket sales went to the Gizo Rotary Club’s fundraising for the refurbishment of the Babanga Primary School.

Grant Griffiths, of Fatboys, said: “Heartfelt thanks must be given to the band, who donated their time and equipment and to all those people who joined our little soire to make it a most memorable night at Fatboys.”

next day from same site

MI Herem Lukim reader Lee Humphries, of Honiara, joins merriment out at Fatboys on Babanga Island with the following footnote to recent, ahem, creative reporting by Grant “Waltzing Matilda” Griffiths:
I was very surprised to see that Grant of Fatboys had managed to score a six-hour set from two of the world’s top singer/songwriters, Neil and Tim Finn, of New Zealand.

This in the middle of their concert tour of North America and Europe and that they’ve had major plastic surgery to boot.

They look nothing like their photos from the current website. Next time they come, let us know.
Lukim iufala long fatboys.

Major plastic surgery to a boot would seem like a bit of a waste. Big Grin

What's with this comment anyway? How bizarre!

Perhaps Neil and Tim now have matching noses? Smiler

Well, Neil seems to have been dipping into Mark's fountain of youth lately... maybe there was something mystic in Nick's haircut Big Grin

Personally I think Tim has always looked younger lucky man

Haha thought this seemed a bit far-fetched from the outset.
