I know this has been discussed many times, so i did'nt want to make a fool out of myself. But hey, i guess everyone's right in their own way. No one can decide for you who you should like best. It's a personal thing and that's the beauty of it. So i'm really sorry for giving this subject some more air. Where it should've stayed in our hearts. I think i'm going to weep. I kid.

This kind of reminds me of my 10 year old twin boys,
when one of them calls the other ugly.

A plea!! Can we put this one to bed? Please. I think enough people have indicated in this thread, and in others, that it's not the type of poll that most people are into, or see merit in.

Enough already!

I think UTG being fairly new was just trying to start a little conversation. Should we research questions we are going to ask on past forums before we post?

If you think this topic is stale, don't post to it and leave the poor person alone. Since this is a fan forum, there should be room for newer posters here as well as those who are well-seasoned.

This is why I pretty much stopped posting to this forum. There is a certain Finn-astocracy that is difficult, if not impossible, to break into.

Sad, because it's seems like this forum is supposed to be a discussion among fans about some interesting fellas who make beautiful music, not about which fans know more Finn-facts than others.

It was because of "discussions" like these that I stopped posting on this forum.

Umm, actually, I believe it is considered good Netiquette to do just that - research to see if the question has been asked and read the replies. In doing so, the poster can determine if the question has already been discussed and can resurrect that old thread if they have something new to add to it.

And UTG - I for one am always ready to admit a new member to the Finn-astocracy, 'cause there's way too few of us, eh?

As far as Split Enz goes, Tim always looked better in his dress and makeup. Neil never looked quite right, I think a sideways mohawk would have appeared more appropriate.

After Enz, Neil wore hand painted suits, like a walking billboard advertisement for the Appocalypse. Tim was seen barefoot in Linen wear. The pendulum now swings towards Neil.

Recently both the Finns were seen in oufits that could have been bought at Banana Republic. Old age gets a point here.

So, I guess it's a tie. First one back in the Enz outfits wins. That's my take on it.

I also find these "who is better" threads pretty tedious, but I had my very short say and that was it.

There is a lot of information on this forum and I'm grateful for what I feel is a sharing spirit in this place and a willingness to spread the knowledge around.

I found it a little bit difficult to "break" in when I first joined this form but I decided to have my say on the topics where I had something to say. I don't know much, but I am still entitled to my opinion, as we all are, and I simply decided that if no one else made me feel welcome, then I would make myself feel welcome Big Grin It would appear to have worked Wink

People in this thread have perhaps expressed their exasperation that we are having this discussion yet again, but as with every topic here we are entitled to our opinion and we are entitled to express it.

I let whatever doesn't interest me, or whatever annoys me, float underneath the radar, and hone in on what I am interested in Smiler

My knowledge regarding Finn is very limited, and this forum has actually underscored that for me, but I'm happy to learn and am happy to be told. I even occasionally get to chase someone across a dark moor Wink

I understand what it feels like to feel "hounded" from a particular forum, but all I'd say is keep dropping back and to see whether you feel like giving it another chance.

I miss people when they leave Frowner

Tim and Neil rock

Neil and Tim rock

Big Grin

Well i think Neil Finn is the best songwriter the world has ever seen and i think Tims has really shown himself as a songwriter in his solo album. So maybe there one and two of all time any thoughts? But i think Neil is the best the world has ever seen.

They're both wonderful songwriters.

Undoubtedly a strong musical gene runs through that family......(and it seems Neil's boys have inherited it too.)

When Tim and Neil write together they really can "pull one out of the hat" though.

Hope there's a lot more Finn stuff to come in the years ahead!

Well I'll save you Mr or Mrs whoever you were!

It should be more a case of who you prefer than who is 'best'.

In my opinion Tim used to have the better voice and was probably the more original 'talent' by a good margin. Tim's songs tapped into an emotional vain that Neil rarely did.

In essence, we should be celebrating their differences rather than arguing who is the best but I think that that is probably what you were after in the first place. To accomplish what I have just raised we will need to define them both as artists and there may be a thread that has this topic already under-way. If I do not find it (hint Wink), I will continue the discussion here.
