On the New Zealand online trading site Trade Me, a former PolyGram NZ employee is selling 6 mint platinum/black True Colours LP sleeves...just the sleeves!

This is the limited NZ-only numbered edition of the LP released later in 1980 to commemorate double platinum sales. Only 2,500 were printed.

True Colours platinum/black LP sleeves

...so if you can pick up a cheap copy of a regular NZ pressing of the LP, you'd be able match up the record from that with one of these sleeves. Great for those who don't have a copy of this very rare colour combo.

To be a Trade Me member, you must be in NZ or Aussie.

I don't. Maybe if I do a black and white photocopy of one of my coloured sleeves, paste it over a cheap John Denver LP cover from a secondhand shop and slip it in amongst my Split Enz LPs, I'll be able to fool myself into thinking that I do.

Annoying that he's selling them in one batch. They don't look that "mint" to me either. Gav was the actual LP identical to the standard NZ pressing? - I don't like the idea of reconstituting a Limited Edition

Does this edition have a unique catalogue number?

Well, perhaps not mint, but still fairly good condition. Yeah, he should've split them up...who wants/needs 6 copies?

I have a copy of this and, yes, the LP is identical to the initial issue...same orange Polydor label, same catalogue number (ENZ 1)...so it wouldn't be a stretch to "reconstitute" (unless it plays on your conscience, but I know what you mean, DG).

Tis a bit silly to sell them all together. I would love one, I don't even have a True Colours LP of any colour (we don't have a record player)...

When you have a close look at the larger picture on the ad, they don't look all that mint to me either.

I think I'll wait until a single sale comes along, or until I can buy one in a secondhand shop that where I can actually see the quality before I buy it.
