Has anyone else got kids that would love to see the Enz perform????
Our Charlie (3) has seen Hi-5...... now she wants to see "Neil and Tim" (her words!). The problem is that the concert is simply too late for a little frenz! I've seen what she does when "I Got You" comes on TV (Everyone is Here DVD)...... I shudder to think what moves she'd bust if she actually got to see them on stage! She can emulate some of Tim's moves with a disturbing accuracy! Might try and get a video of this and put it here.... We'd love to hear stories of any other kids out there who know a few Split Enz tracks that they sing as they wander the house drawing on walls and throwing food at their siblings!!! |

Don't know if the daughter being 7 would love to see the ENZ, I know i'd love her to though.
Her music book for school is wrapped in 6 Months lyrics and other enz music i printed out and whacked the old contact sheet over. Her music teacher was impressed and sang the class 6 months! ____________________ people hear what they see |

My almost 15 year old hates them! I know he's no longer a "little frenz" but this thread just reminded me of when he used to be one and his favourite song was I Got You (sniff!). He would hear the Enz alot when he was younger.
Sadly, I've lost him to the Rap/Crap music that seems to dominate the music charts these days. He loves it so I'm happy for him but maybe, hopefully one day he'll want to listen to the Enz again with his old mum! every form of refuge has it's price..... |

My 6 year old (7 in June)likes a few Split Enz songs. He especially likes Poor Boy, Shark attack and Dirty Creature. I am not sure he would like to go to a concert though.
Unfortunately he seems to have more of his Dads taste in music |

One of my cats was dancing to I See Red the other day. Does that count?

Of course, he's your baby!
I have four 'little' people in my house and they don't really have a choice, they're forced into listening to Split Enz and Crowded House, whether they like it or not. But I don't get any complaints. The girls (9 and 7) really love it, they sing along to all the songs and love the DVDs too. The youngest one even asks to have Recurring Dream on when she goes to sleep. The boys prefer their own music, and unfortunately in the case of my 13 year old, that does mean Rap Crap. My eldest one, who's 15, likes things like Green Day, Nirvana and Linkin Park, so his taste is a lot better than his brother's. I took the boys to see the Finn Brothers in Amsterdam last June. I wanted their first ever concert to be a good one! And they enjoyed it (although the youngest one probably would have prefered Eminem). The girls were very jealous, they really wanted to go, but they're just too young at the moment. I promised to take them when they're about twelve, so they'll just have to wait a few years! |

Well I'm certain that my son, 9, and my daughter, almost 13, would love to see the Enz. Both love all my Finn music
My son has taken such an interest that he asks me questions about the Finns and their music, such as the meaning of songs. The other day, I was listening to songs by Betchadupa and The Tricks on myspace, and was telling my son those are Neil's sons' bands. He wanted to know if they wrote their own songs or if Neil and Tim wrote for them. I thought it was pretty cool that a 9 year old would even care! My daughter has introduced her friends to CH and the Enz, and I know they'd all love to see a concert. ********************************************************************* 7 Worlds Collide 2 WEBCAST!! My 6 year old prefaces all discussion about the upcoming Enz show with "I'm goin' ". And will not hear any different.
He took Spellbound to school for Favourite Music day and his teacher decided to share, so in the end 600 kids and their teachers all gathered in the yard or hung out of windows and went nuts to Split Enz! He said he'd never seen his teachers behave like that, was the funniest thing he had ever seen. *sigh* Proud moment. When I told him he wasnt going to the Finn Bros shows last July he put his head on the table and cried his heart out. "Where is Neil Finn? I really think Neil Finn should be there" My 6yo watching Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony |

Oh some pool room moments there guys ! So PROUD !!
Sorry mummy is being stingey and just spending the money on herself this time round. Oh and a mini holiday from her little Enzers one of them being wee Finn, little brat i'd probably lose him in the crowd so i don't need those kind of heart palpatations..... A BELOVED's APPRECIATION thread would be excellent letting us bugger off for a few days and our betrotheds holding the fort. Thankyou dearone !! ____________________ people hear what they see |

I have to agree there, Kelly. If it wasn't for the wonderful Mr Penny, then I'd be going nowhere. Thank you Hunny! I'll make it up to you when I get home. Just quietly, I'd like to be a fly on the wall in my house for the week I'm away. Would be veeeerrryy interesting to see how much pizza and ice cream my kids eat and how often they are late for school. If he remembers to take them, that is!!!!! LOL! Back to the Little Frenz. My son would have traded his percious "Froggy" to see Tim a few years ago. He even has Tim's autograph, thanks to PG . Where did I go wrong??!!! ------------------------------------ Every day's a miracle just verging on disaster. |

My two boys (10 and 7) cant wait to go. The oldest one knows more words to the songs than I do! My oldest also wants to go on Australias brainiest kid. I asked him what he would like for his special topic and he said Split Enz.
My 10 year old is concerned, however, that if we get seats in the stalls that people would end up standing and he wont get to see the show. |

My son, Kenny, is 11--I've been able to move him nicely from the Wiggly version of 6 Months in a Leaky Boat to the original and on to the bulk of the Enz catalog. I'm always amazed how he tends to prefer the Tim songs to the Neil songs (although his ultimate fave is probably I Got You). He also is into Tim's solo stuff, especially the tracks on Feeding the Gods. Pretty discerning for an 11 year old kid, especially when you consider that Kenny is autistic--nonverbal but amazingly communicative.
Unfortunately I think a flight from Baltimore to Melbourne would kill us both, so Mom is sucking up her guilt and leaving him at home with Dad.... Beth |

Reckon unless there's a London show we won't be seeing Split Enz......not so bad, for her first gig (other than Hi5) she got to see the Finns at the Albert Hall last March! |

Our seven year old is very impressed that she is going to see them in Brisbane. She is actually pretty keen on the ENZSO versions of the songs so it will be interesting to see what she makes of it all live.
"Enz with a Bang" at Festival Hall Bris Vegas was my first ever concert when I was at high school and here is hoping she enjoys her first ever real grown up concert. |
