I was just wondering whether a 2006 Split Enz tour has been confirmed. Have any concert dates been set? I seem to hear about concerts much too late to get good seats.

Sorry if this question has already been answered in numerous other topics. I'm new to the forum.

Thanks.

Regards,
Matt

Welcome, Matt, I'm fairly new too
The last I heard was "rumoured", maybe around May, but I'm sure our very up-to-date moderators will be able to get and give more info. One thing is for sure, I'll be at that gig, I have never seen The Enz live (I was born in 1976 so that might be why)so, man would this be one heck of a concert Big Grin

The fanclub mailing I received last week indicated that plans are being firmed up for May 06 tour dates in Australia...that's the last I've heard.

Thanks for the replies Finngirl and Bfine. I guess we will just have to keep our eyes peeled. I was born in 1988, so there was effectively no hope of me making it to a Split Enz or Crowded House concert.

Can I please put out a general request to users of this forum that somebody posts a list of tour dates as soon as they are confirmed?

The fanclub mailing also indicated that Peter's office is closed until January 14 (a much needed break after the recent move, I would suspect.

Peter is really good about keeping things updated here on this forum, so I'd bet that as soon as things are set in stone, he'll post on the forum. Keep your eyes peeled, Matthew!

Hi hk
I guess it is a bit unusual. There was even a mildly successful band from the area called Chilliwack.

But I'm not fussy. If SE wanted to do a show on the other side of the country I'd be more than happy to go for a trip! It's too bad it costs so much to get to the preferred side of the world.

I'm actually in the process of getting myself a passport, just in case Wink

I very much admire the dedication of those fans who have travelled half way round the world to see the guys.

If a reunion tour happens, I feel the need to get to as many shows as I can, because realistically, I think that we could assume that any Split Enz reunion tour would more than likely be the last one to ever happen.

Well then ma'am, I'm afraid you probably won't be going overseas anytime soon...

The chances of successfully having a decent passport photo are approxomately three thousand seven hundred and twenty to one.

I'm on a party line wondering all the time, who's on the other end?
Is she big?
Is she small?
Is she a she at all?
Who's on my party line?

I can't stand thinking about that...especially since it's likely that the boys will play Australia and that will be about it Frowner

I've got my passport and am more than willing to make the trip down under, but I just don't know if it's logistically feasible for us. Morally, I feel I can't leave my son, who's my Split Enz pal, behind (he's 11 and autistic). He loves to fly, but we've only been as far as Florida on an airplane. Somehow I think we'd be tempting fate with a 30 hour flight...

I remember Chilliwack! My Girl, right? The "Gone gone gone you've been gone so long" song?

Still pulling for Canadian dates...

That means they're a bit like the licence photos then does it? Eeker

Bother Razzer I'll just have to take whatever comes. I do feel that it would be madness not to have the passport all ready and waiting when Split Enz tour. New Zealand would be about as far as I could go, but I reckon I would be willing to do that.

BFine, your loyalty is a credit to you, but I wouldn't worry yet. Smiler We have to see what will happen regarding a tour; where they'll play, how long the tour will go for etc. Everything crossed that they can cover as much of their fan base as possible Big Grin

Apparently Peter Green is now talking about June, not May for the potential tour, wherever it might be going.

Obviously some work to be done yet on getting agreement from all the Enzers!

Chilliwack. Vanderhoof. Winnipeg. Edmonton. Vancouver. Kelowna. Toronto. Calgary. Regina. Halifax. Seeing the Enz in any three-syllable Canadian city would be fantastic. Big Grin

Chilliwack does have a great Tim Horton's right off the highway, though. And I hear Winnipeg does great slurpies. And if the Enz are craving Wareniki and Mennonite sausage, Vanderhoof is THE place to be. Wink
