Got it two days ago!
The signatures are really nicely done and it was actually quite special to hold a booklet that went through the hands of all the original musicians!

Immediately I played the album again for the first time in maybe a year and I was once again completely fascinated by the music.. It's such a fantastic piece of music that you can keep going back to and hear ne things.

I know we mentioned this on the VIP and digests but thought I'd make it clear here too. If you ordered two signed MENTAL NOTES-we are attempting to send everyone at least one now (if we can)...and the 2nd copy will go out in Jan-Feb when Warners repress and we buy the last of the stock.

If anyone is unsure about their order just email me and I can tell you if you are waiting. We tried to send them out in the order that people sent in... at the end of the day we only have a limited amount of signed stock for batch #1, so some Frenz will have to wait for batch #2.

Yes people can still order this via the club. I have to stress though- once Batch #2 has been ordered and sold out-that's it for us- never again will fully signed Mental Notes be available via the club. Once we hit Gold we have achieved the 'quest'-so if you are considering a copy- now is the time.

Warners have now repressed stock- we just got the call (20/2/09) so we have just sent in another stock order.
We should have CD stock in a week and I'll be getting the guys to sign this 2nd batch.

We are now down to 1622 units for it to obtain Gold here, so chiseling it away. (and speaking of Cold Chisel!!! their debut album just went Gold this week).... so it seems quite a few debuts take a decade or two!!

YES music lovers can still get fully signed copies via the Frenz of the Enz club.

For those of you waiting for batch #2- I have enough stock coming to cover all of the requests that came in.

We managed to escape the mountain today and Noel autographed all his Mental Notes covers.

One down 6 to go.... and yes club members can still order this wonderful cd (signed by all those Enz guys).

I noticed on the Enz Australian royalties that Mental Notes in the last quarter moved up to be the Enz 3rd biggest selling CD here for that time period (all because of club sales).

True Colours still sells the most, Time & Tide second and Mental Notes now third. I'm hoping we can get Mental Notes to be the biggest seller even for one quarter. Anyway good effort, now just to get this album to hit GOLD!

Quick question... if the Mental Notes being sold now has the two bonus tracks on them, is the rest of the album the same as the remaster (in the Enz to Enz boxset) or is it the original sound quality (as in on the Gold Box set)?

it would be the same as the remastered (Enz to Enz) they tend to keep with the current release.

Tim and Eddie signed their Mental Notes covers today- so we have Ed, Tim, Noels signatures.... Phil's next week so slowly they are all being signed.

Wally Wilkinson has them today- Phil will be after Wally as far as getting these signed.

It all takes awhile, but the guys are pretty much committed to making this thing go gold as well, so as long as it takes.

At least it stops some of you stalking outside their houses (I am joking- don't get any ideas).

Nice sunny day up here at Kalorama. Just had a visit from Phil Judd and Mr Pete. Phil just signed the latest batch of Mental Note cd-covers.

So we currently have: Tim Finn, Noel Crombie, Wally Wilkinson, Eddie Rayner and now Phil's autograph on them. The covers go off to New Zealand on Tuesday for the final 2 signatures (Mike and Emlyn's). They are returned to us and we will get this batch #2 out to those who have ordered it.

We will continue getting these signed copies done- 1622 to go. So if you are a club member & are after the brilliant Enz debut cd, FULLY signed by all 7 members- just email me (peter@frenz.com).

How many more CDs to go before the album goes gold. I often see Mental Notes on sale for $6-$7 and wondered whether a purchase would help. If the signed CDs hit the target then I guess I don't need to bother....

1622 to go...the $6-$7 ones are probably the horrible Mushroom Mid Price master old stock...
and think they are non returnable to the record company so already counted in the sales.
I think eventually we will hit the target with the signed ones, it will take a little bit of time but we are chipping away. Plus fully signed, just makes them much cooler.

Mental Notes covers arrived today in NZ- Mike Chunn currently has them and is signing away. Just leaves Emlyn Crowther who'll sign them after Mike.
The NZ office will return them to Oz and we will mail out all the batch #2. So the wheels are in motion...

I'll stay away fom the mid price stock !! If the new releases are $6 to $7 then is it worth it ? I'm looking forward to the signed copies of course however $6 to $7 is a small price to pay.

Yeah $6 and $7 is SUPER cheap... I think it depends on the store, IF they restock when it sells it's good for the sales as it comes off the 1622 remaining at the record company.

Just with Mental Notes being the third biggest selling Enz album (last quarter) and 99.9% of those sales from club purchase, means stores are not really ordering it on a regular basis (criminal). Really the fanclub sales are the only ones really driving this.

I'm just stoked that the signed club copies are all going to real homes and not sitting in our office gathering dust.

Well Mike has signed all covers..they are back in the NZ office on Monday- so that just leaves Emlyn Crowther- I'd expect him to sign them during the week. After that back to Oz and batch #2 will be mailed out.

I'm just doing address checks on all order sheets to make sure they get to everyone.

has now added the final signature to these covers in NZ...so they are returned to us soon. I'm thinking they wont get to us from NZ till we return in a few weeks. Tomorrow is the last mail day before we head off.
So there could be a 2 week delay. Unfortunately the mail between NZ and here is the one thing i can't control (well horrid politicians too) ...so if they dont arrive tomorrow-I will mail batch #2 as soon as we return.

batch #2 of the fully signed MENTAL NOTES covers arrived while we are in Nevada. Our office isn't open till June 1st, BUt I have staff sending out copies while we are away. I'd say 80% have already been mailed.

If you miss out on batch #2 , there will be a batch #3 in a few months time- so the quest will continue to get this baby to Gold status and an award for the original members. So yes Enz fans can still support this and order copies.

We send them out in the order that members send in the order sheet.

I've just bought a remastered version (in jewel case). It's only a small help but I hate to think they missed out by just the few.

Little nit pickle; the CD label has a 80s Mushroom label. Surely the original 1975 brown label should have been used? Ah well, doesn't matter. Not as though you can see it when it's playing.
