I have this double disc and it's pretty good, certainly something any Enz fan would want to own.

Yeah, Other Enz is a neat collection. Maybe we'll get to see a second volume one day.
Here's a review for those interested: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/storyprint.cfm?storyID=117149 PS. I hate to be picky, but Neil didn't write "She's Not There" - it's a Zombies cover. |

I read the review! Here it is for those who are interested:
Various - Other Enz: Split Enz & Beyond 12.02.2000 - *** (Raven) Review: Russell Baillie Recently arrived on the new-release shelves alongside the Crowded House odds'n'ends collection Afterglow, this double-CD attempts a family album of what happened after the Enz clan split. Which means it's all over the place, though it has much for the truly devoted to pore over with a healthy smattering of rarities, covers, obscurities and world-wandering live tracks. It starts with some live-in-London Enz tracks, includes some one-off best forgotten singles from non-Finns (the Mal Green Sound's Follow Me, Noel Crombie's My Voice Keeps Changing on Me), includes various Tim collaborations (with Phil Manzanera, Herbs, Richard Thompson), traces Phil Judd's post-Enz career (Swingers, solo and the underrated Schnell Fenster, but no Suburban Reptiles), and if there's a soundtrack song with the T. Finn/ N. Finn credit it's probably here. Oh, and with guest stars, too - Crowded House backing Byrd Roger McGuinn in Hollywood on Eight Miles High and Mr Tambourine Man, and the Finns-Pearl Jam (well, Eddie Vedder really) live-in-Auckland version of History Never Repeats. Lots there, but all up, a better collector's item than an album. c-ya Kate! |
