Jack FM is based from Vancouver, Canada.

Great station, even despite the fact I don't listen to the radio ...

not sure if this counts but...in aust for less than a week and at brookside shopping centre in brisso, walked straight into a guy wearing a vintage corroboree t-shirt. i'm sure it fit pretty well in '81 - now, not so much...he probably thought i was some middle-aged gay stalker i was fixed on him so much...

I remember being in a lift with Tim and Marie, just the three of us after a show in Auckland and they were going to drop me off somewhere.... we hopped on at the third level and when it reached level 2 we could hear a band rehearsing playing Crowded House songs!!!

We all went 'wow Neil's in the building'....which he wasn't he was overseas.... it just was an oddball moment-Neils music haunting his older brother! I seem to recall it was a half decent cover too (considering we heard it in an elevator!).

I was playing The Reels 'Neighbours' Cd in the car this morning and completely forgot they did that intense version of Enz 'I Walk Away'.

I keep hearing 'Six Months In A Leaky Boat' and 'Message to my Girl' on the radio at Kalorama Post Office.

I heard Message To My Girl whilst eating a Veggie Panini in my local shopping mall... considering it wasn't a hit over here in the UK I was surprised ... but it did make me smile.

Which is more than I can say for the panini - not good! Roll Eyes

Coles (Supermarket) and Sanity (CD Shop). Even though they are not strange and unusual places to hear Enz songs, anybody who see's my reaction when the songs start might as well think I have never heard it for yonkers! Cool

Semi related - I always hear Neil's Loose Tongue during the V8 Supercars on telly Big Grin I get a kick out of that!

The staff in the kitchen at work have mix102.3 on here in Adelaide. It seems they must have a policy to play an Enz/Crowdies/Finn song every day around lunch time. Good work. I'm gradually educating the young ones at work about some real music!

Everytime I go into my IGA there is a Tim song playing, the post office always seems to have Message To My girl...hmm.. but it's the random things I love most.I went to a school fete, as soon as I got there the loudspeaker was turned up and Something so Strong was on, I was just leaving the local field days when someone turned on their car radio and I Got You was half way through in the radio, this happens quite often, I love the affirmation and synchronicity of it all Big Grin

Well today the Enz certainly were haunting us.

Kalorama General Store/Post Office- 'Six Months' playing on their radio.... Mountain Gate Safeway
has 'Message' over the store PA and around the corner the news-agents had 'I Got You'.... at first it felt like some strange joke! But I thought about it and I guess a lot of people hear the Enz via supermarkets etc. Probably the same 6 songs (though Safeway Prahran used to play 'I walk away' a lot).

I went back to the office and played Morrissey *GRIN*.

Often used to hear plenty of Crowded House at work (IGA), as well as Message To My Girl. (Once I interrupted my boss - mid sentence, just to sing along to the bit "I can't spend the rest of my life, buried in the sand!")
However, they recently changed the music, and I rarely hear any good music. Buuut, when it seemed all hope was lost, I was pleasantly surprised to hear 'Nobody Takes Me Seriously' one day. I embarrassed myself greatly singing along. Worth it!

It's funny how I hear Better Be Home soon, Chocolate Cake etc when radio stations do special countdowns or have 80's weekends but won't play them any other time, but to play it at all shows they have access to the songs, and it's obviously not just CH and Enz affected by this, doesn't make sense... I had the tv tuned to the Sci-Fi channel last night and they were showing some obscure movie called "The Ferryman". I heard a bit of Dirty Creature playing in the background at one point. I've just looked up the movie on imdb and see Fraction Too Much Friction and Counting The Beat are also on the soundtrack.

In the early '90s in my home town of Tucson, AZ, there was a locally produced commercial for a new wildlife museum that ran frequently during daytime network programming. The ad was cheesy and poorly produced -- but amazingly, the intro to "Working Up An Appetite" played under the voice-over for the whole 30 seconds.
