Hi all - As you all know, the Split Enz site @ http://www.frenz.com/splitenz/ has had a lick of paint late last year and didn't get a lot of other love after that. That's down to time and content - Our long term plan is to link all of Frenz.com in with the discography, so a lot of things like Lyrics and Album covers etc didn't get dropped on the site as I was waiting for the discog to be finished. But the discog drags on and on.

We have one of Deb's staff working on the coding side of it again, but it is in a queue with a whole bunch of work on that person's plate. All of us are a little overworked at the minute, so it's been hard to give as much time to Frenz as we genuinely want to. However, I can tell you all that the new site design for the whole Frenz site across the board is done and we're just waiting to find time to rewrite some pages before we drop it on you.

In general, with regard to There's a lot we want to do with it. Both Jaffaman and PG did send me some stuff, but Frenz.com development still being a bit of a one man band, the proposed Luton site never quite got up and running.

We would love to host some concert photos and any scans of things relating to the recent Enz shows in Auckland. I've seen some wonderful photos in the threads here - Can I convince anyone like to share them (with full credit) on the Split Enz site? Frenz still gets an insane amount of hits from around the world and tends to be a first port of call for Enz fans and so by sending us your photos, you would be contributing to the community at large and providing a wealth of things for new Enz fans to discover.

If you have something to share, you all know the usual iarla [at] frenz.com address to send things to.

It may take me a few weeks to get anything people send up, but it will get posted eventually. PG has also said there should be a little video to go up too from what he has taken.

As a side note - Deb having handed me over all the Frenz.com archives (Computer files and physical things), I've found a wealth of interesting stuff, that I will find a home for on the site eventually - Including a hand written note from Eddie Rayner from some time in the 90's promising to email on some news about what he's up to for the site. I'm not sure Deb ever got one - But he did send a cassette of versions of "Bold As Brass" and "Hermit McDermitt" from the 1993 shows that only eventually surfaced on Extravagenza.

We have some photos we could share.

We also have a couple of videos which we'd be willing to share. We've wanted to share them anyway, and didn't really want to do YouTube, so Frenz would be perfect. Smiler

Are you accepting fan videos? (Bearing in mind that we're not professionals).

It depends on the content Smiler In general, yes we are, but it does depend on the video.

Our videos are from the recent Enz tour.

They are clear and fairly consistent. I would be happy to arrange to forward it to you so you could view it (and any of our photos) before you made a decision as to their suitability for inclusion. Smiler

Have we seen your photos on the forums, TR, or did I manage to sleep through that somehow?

Happy to share some of mine, as long as there would be no issues for me publishing them down the track. Do you just want the Auckland show(s) or all NZ shows?

You're welcome to use mine too, Iarla. I hadn't posted these here before, sorry - they're here.

Are you interested in photos of other gigs - I might have some from the Millennium shows?

Just a note - If people are happy to email their actual JPG files to us rather than sending us links - It just gives us much more options in how we lay the photos out on the page Smiler

I would be very happy to do that Smiler but I am afraid I have no idea how to email a photo without doing it as a link, and beacuse of how this computer is it would only cope with sending maybe two at a time if I could Frowner

If say I put some of the photos in photobucket and sent the link/code via email would that work ? it takes about 15 minutes for me to upload one photo, but I dont mind doing it (I really don't)would any of mine be worth doing that way would you think ?

thanks heaps

I've now tried 3 times to send you videos Iarla, but the email just will not send Frowner

I'm having computer problems at the moment but am not in a position to get it looked at.

When my niece gets back from camp, I'll see if we can send the vids from her laptop - she's got all the stuff from my camera on her computer too. Smiler

I can't say whether you were asleep or not mk - I guess only you'd know that. Smiler We haven't posted our pics anywhere as yet. We'll get round to it, but will now probably offer the good ones to Frenz. There were lots of crap ones - my niece was really good with the camera but its the first time she's ever done anything like this at a concert. It is a learning curve. Smiler

When I have some time this weekend, I'll weed through my Enz photos and attach the best of the lot in an email, Iarla. I imagine you want photos with decent resolution, but not so large in size as to bog down your email?

I'll also get them into a Photobucket account or similar for the completists. It seems important to contribute to the photo history of the Enz tour by providing all different angles and quality of photos of the band at the various venues. Wink

As long as they're under 10mb per image, it won't bog down my email. My connection is excellent, and given the nature of my job, I get large files all the time.

This is just great. It is always so exciting to see photos posted up on the site after a concert, and the last batch taken in NZ in particular have been stunning without exception, imo.

Having a dedicated space to them all is wonderful, and thanks to everyone who is going to contribute their photos and their time to making this happen.
