It was publicly available - I remember seeing a mail-order ad in a music magazine.

Yeah, was definitely both. Long been out of print, thus often commanding prices over $100.

Yeah Australia- NZ for Book Enz- mostly newsagents...but in the end(z) the only decent sales were from the club. It didn't sell many to the general public, which was a bit sad as our wonderful manager Nathan showed true faith and put up the $ for it to be made.

The last few 3x boxes we had, we put out at the Myer Music Bowl Enz show and gave the $ to Nigel
as a thank you for his efforts too. After that they became extinct...every so often one turning up on Ebay from some guy called the Stallion (oops joking Ed). Rumor has it that Eddie Rayner still has a box hidden away in his bunker.

The most horrid rumour was that hundreds of boxes were destroyed/thrown out from a storage warehouse in NZ. I'm still not sure how true that is.

Australia had the most stock so if you are second hand hunting a copy, oz would be your best bet.

I spot one every 5 years or so.... and the first part run, had a serious condition of the cover always falling off....great photos though Nigel.

Ahhh....memories! Smiler

That day at the Myer Music Bowl is etched into my brain! If my failing memory serves me correctly, I think I got my copy of Book Enz there too.

Yeah, the cover's threatening to fall off my copy too Roll Eyes

There are half a dozen copies on Abebooks right now, starting at $US 50.

Interesting that Book Enz doesn't rate a mention in Mike Chunn's Stranger Than Fiction.

Well it is essentially a picture book. Great photos to be sure, but not necessarily something you'd reference in a biography. Not really sure how else he would have incorporated it, a side-interest of Nigel's? *shrugs*
