I got an email from Herald Sun HiT (I signed up for the competition for the entire set of remasters, which eventually went to Matinee Idyll if I'm not mistaken) advertising the DVD and Luton being released on the 12th, wonder where the fan club release falls in comparison to this

Some of you will be delighted...we managed to get some of our LUTON cds a week early..mailed off 125 today- remember I am on the road, got home at 4.00 in the morning last night and off for the rest of the tour tonight.....so incredibly limited with time - we will keep mailing as best we can but the bulk of the TWO cd set around the date we said...and half of you didnt include membership numbers so we have to double check every address.
Artwork is really nice, sounds great, even a cute Frenz of the Enz 2 cd set on the front ...makes it all seem rather special. Big thank you to Eddie and the band for this.... Remember I'm email free for the next 2 weeks.... thanks Gryph |

Well i bought the CD from Virgin yesterday (along with my One out of the bag dvd).
Had one listen so far (this is the non-club cd - so there is only 15 tracks) But all gems.. Liner notes are great though. Memories written by Tim, Eddie, Noel, Neil and Nigel. Production and re mastering quality is lush. But will have a few more listens through and submit a review. Peace |

Real lucky, man!
I'll be rushing into the music stores after work today. Got the Luton double CD on its way to me soon enough, so hopefully I can find the live DVD at the very least! Are the 15 tracks as per website listings, or does it differ? Gav |

I just bought the 1 disc release and was just listening to it in the car. It sounds great. Home Comforst is still a great song, and wonderful to be able to finally hear a studio version. Best Friend sounds wonderful too, especially Tim's compressed vocals.
Animal Lover is a totally different version to what I've had for years, it's a song! The version I have is instrumental and the only vocals on it are the 'animal lover' bits, but they're through a vocoder. So Jaffa, do you know where it's from? I suspect a home demo by Eddie, but what I have is not the Luton version. ----------------------------- What do you think it is, a space helmet for a cow? If anyone is after the single CD in Melbourne JB Elizabeth St had it for $17.99 (these were in the CH section) and the Bourke St store for $21.99. Go figure. I had to go to 2 stores to get my TOE tour edition otherwise I wouldn't have known.
I'll wait for the club cd set to arrive. Thanks for the reviews so far. "Hey, the Hardcore are here!" Matt Sherrod, Enmore Theatre, Sydney, 31 March 2010 |

Recieved mine this afternoon. Thanks heaps Peter and not before time either... If anything helps take the rotteness out of feeling a bit "yuck" (must be the burst of Summer heat

This was a surprise find for everyone, including Eddie. 29 years ago "Animal Lover" was mixed to stereo as an instrumental. It was even used as music during the credit sequence for the 1979 Split Enz "The Concert" TV special in NZ. When Eddie listened back to the original 8-track multis for this remix project, there was Tim's vocal on one of the tracks singing Eddie's lyrics! "Creature Comforts" was another surprise find, long forgotten because it had never been mixed in the first place. I'd heard demos before by Tim, Neil and Noel on the Ninees tapes but had no idea it had been later recorded in the studio. I think "Creature Comforts" is Eddie's guess at a title. It was almost going to be called "Gift of the Gab". |
