Great pictures Yemanja! It was great spending some time with you! So wonderful.

As you know, my darling husband took some pretty special pictures too. He's very proud of them, and I think he's done a fantastic job. Here's the link to the ones from Wellington.

I think they're fantastic. Also on a bit of a bigger camera. I'm having trouble deciding which one to use as an avatar! Please comment on them on the flickr account too. Enjoy!

Cheers!!!

shot fenderboy. were you in the second row near in the middle? I had an idea you might be there and saw someone who I thought could be you.

the gig was soooo good. probably better than when I saw crowded house at vector and I was looking forward to that more. mighta had to do with the fact that crowded house had new songs whereas split enz was pretty much a best of night.

I wish I was going tonight.. anyone want to give me a free ticket?

Auckland- last day on tour...

Just went for a walk down the main street and it's a true Frenz invasion, seems all of the Frenz are out and about-something fun about large quanities of people wearing Enz shirts in public..those red True Colour shirts really do stand out. Nice to chat to so many of you.

Last show tonight- it's all gone by far too fast, would of loved another week- the band are just hitting their stride...

Tonights the night to call out requests... have a feeling if your timing is right Carried Away or maybe Titus could get a look in- hell GO FOR IT!

Yes Spellbound, One out of the Bag and Luton (single cd) have also been at shows, but only a limited amount and the general public seem to gobble them up straight away. 90% are sold out before doors open. I have a feeling One out of the Bag will re enter the NZ Top 10 next week to join Spellbound on the charts...

What else..cozzies were washed last night, David our heroic manager going beyond the call of duty and getting them ready for the last night. We were at the venue till 3.00 working, long after the band have gone...got there at 9.30 so a very long day indeed.

A few asked about the cozzies.. yes Enz costumes are never meant to be perfect fits (thats all part of it) this set is a bit untraditional.. the 'dye' used is actually 'tea stain'!!! Loved how each night Noel makes corrections to them by cutting insome newholes (such a perfectist is the House of Crombie)...

So this is it, a blink of an eye and it's all over- for those who travelled so far- I'm hoping it has been a great week for you and all the locals who have turned up- and just made these gigs magical....thank you!

See some of you again tonight- last chance to dance...and call out those requests.

Gryph

Looking forward to the show. I'm sitting here in the studio with Kev from Manchester and Koji from Japan listening to unreleased Enz and CH rarities. Lots of drooling going on - it's disgusting.

My sources on the ground in Auckland tell me that they indeed did Titus and Carried Away.

I think the setlist for the first Auckland concert (28th) was identical to Wellington (above) and Christchurch, from what I've read here.

Thanks to Peter Green I was lucky enough to sit in on part of the soundcheck on the 28th with about a dozen other Frenz. (Nice to meet Texas Rose & Co., whom I recognised from Semi-Detached's new avatar! Big Grin *waves*)

After Peter persuaded the Vector Arena security guards that we were not trespassers Eeker we sat about 20 rows back from the stage and Neil called out hello to us. I'm pretty sure that was Emlyn Crowther sitting a few rows in front of us. We got about three or four full-length songs including 'Shark Attack' by special Frenz request, and a lot of snippets ("Sweet Talkin' Spoon Song" amongst others!). Yes, they did rehearse "Titus" and "Carried Away" during the soundcheck, although these weren't actually performed during the first show.

The setlist for the second night (29th) was almost the same as the first, but yes, "Titus" was slipped in before "Matinee Idyll". Tim told the audience "we haven't performed this for a very long time, and it's dedicated to Phil Judd". And "Years Go By" was dropped in favour of "Carried Away". Neil commented "that was probably the first time we've performed that on stage - and about time!".

I spotted Mike Chunn out the front of the Arena on the 29th and wondered if he or some of the other Enzers might make a special guest appearance on stage, but that didn't happen. Frowner However, we did get a guest appearance of sorts from an over-enthusiastic audience member who jumped on stage during "I See Red" and had to be dragged off by security. Roll Eyes

With my eyesight I thought at first they were the ice-cream suits from the Strait Old Line videoclip. Smiler

YouTube clips are OK, but distributing recordings of the shows is illegal. Please do not do it or hint at it here unless you'd like to be admitting to a crime in writing on a public forum.
