Oh sigh.... Memories.

As much as I loved going to the gigs in Aus, it was just as much fun meeting up with everyone.

Can understand totally the overload of frenz nics and real names you had TR.

Great gossipy bits everyone Big Grin Sleep well Dancing Girl.

TR surely you remember Titus being played in Laver? It was one of my highlights.

Gryph hope Titus and Carried Away make it our way soon please. (crossing fingers icon)

Suz and Mag that was indeed a good investment for the worker.

Camus your hair was much wavier.

Anorak God, waiting for loose lips.

and Wellington

Might add some Auckland ones later if people are interested, I've so much to do it's not funny!

great photos ^

everyone's photos are fantastic actually. sometimes i find myself just looking over them all again & again for a few minutes

i don't know if anyone has any information on this? but it would be splendid if any or all of the gigs were recorded, whether visually or just audio. a live dvd or cd would be fantastic. i know they just released "one out of the bag", but just based on the dvd, christchurch was much more...'into it'? i would love a cd which included the extended parts of each song as well, like the funky percussion heavy jam at the end of "take a walk", or the loads of fun call & crowd responses from tim on "my mistake". now that would make a great live disk

I believe PG videoed all the shows including the dress rehearsal, and there is matching soundboard recording (though he says the sound quality from the video is pretty good - personally I'd rather it from the board), so there is hope of at least a club DVD.

I don't think he videod all the shows, certainly not in their entirety.

Lovin' them photos, Janine.

I think there should be a book printed of the photos taken on tour by the fans...there's certainly enough of 'em about!

Peter definitely filmed the Christchurch dress rehearsal...hope it's usable!

Crimpies, I don't know who else heard the conversation and read the emails and what they got out of them (I must confess to skimming so much with all that's doing right now), but I got the impression that Peter was filming all the shows. We definitely saw him there for the whole ChCh show (not the dress rehearsal) as he was pretty much beside us.

Funny you mention a book Gav, because once I've dealt with my looming deadline I'm actually looking at putting out a few coffee table books of my own photos (hence the watermarking, sorry guys) - at least of Enz and Tim, though I've probably got enough for at least a combined brothers and Crowdies one. I'm tempted to do it now since I have the word on a good place to do it, but deadlines wait for nobody and more distractions I most definitely do not need. However, if people want to express their interest, I believe the more copies printed the cheaper it gets ...

Meanwhile, to some more pix ... this time from the first Auckland show on the 28th

it's so pleasing to hear of all this recorded material!

& mummakook, straight up, if you were to release a book of tim/enz photos dating from however long ago up until the last tour, based on the above photos alone, i'd straight up buy a copy asap. i genuinely hope a book is on your horizon sometime in the future, i love that sort of thing

Awesome idea, Janine. If it goes ahead (which I hope it does), count me in for a copy! These pics are high quality and deserve to see the light of day.

We saw hk in Christchurch and she was right into it. Big Grin

We did look for you in Melbourne that night Camus. Frowner As you say though, next time. Wink

Leon Russell hey Camus?! I'd like to have seen that!

Yes, it was a brilliant concert, and clearly, as has been said, the enthusiastic audience really pleased the guys. I don't think Tim stopped grinning. Big Grin I went with an old friend from NZ who last saw them in 1980 something or other, and she was blown away - even went out next day and bought Spellbound!

Great to see TR and everyone, including those Frenz whose names I don't know, and I realise from going through these great reviews that I was dancing up the front next to FinnGirl Cool.

I have to say I was really jealous of all those Frenz going on to see the other concerts - I was having a well earned holiday in the South Island, but there were moments when I thought, "rats", as I lay reading a book in a hammock in the Marlborough Sounds.

And thanks to all for the fantastic photos - what a talented lot you all are.

I must say all these photos of the boys with crazy hair is a huge inspiration on my own! Big Grin(Girlfriend's not impressed at all, though!)

Hey Tab...I love that last photo of Noel with guitar and Michael offering a match. Think it's the first one I've seen of Noel Hendrix. Big Grin

Hey hk...did I meet you at the Christchurch show or rehearsal?

I could be wrong, but if memory serves and you're talking about the picture I think you're talking about (I haven't checked!) he is trying to tempt the guitar out of Noel's hands with his spoons!

Which kinda would make sense!

Looking at it again, I can see how you would think it was a match! But it's definitely a spoon!

More great pics, thanks for posting ladies Smiler

And a book sounds like a brilliant idea. I actually just ordered online yesterday a coffee table type book released titled "JIMMY BARNES - ICONS OF AUSTRALIAN MUSIC" which looks fabulous. Hence an Enz/Finn/CH type would be more than welcome thanks!

The pics are fantastic. So much better than the ones we all got in Oz in 2006.

Gryph, bet we'd all be happy to send them to you too, and could be a slide show at the start of the DVD release? Wink

Cheers to all!

Oh wow, that last one is great FG! I haven't really looked at mine from the 2nd Auckland show yet, so I'm glad someone got that one right (and you were in a better location that me - too far to the side that night for my liking and the wrong one - not so much cos it wasn't Tim's side but because Neil has a habit of getting in everyone else's way from that side!)

Thanks for all the interest and ancouragement on the book guys. I'm kinda tied up till at least September, but it's pretty much top of my agenda once my current project is out of the way (hopefully for good this time!) and I'll start a thread about it once I have something more concrete to offer. I consider this my stepping stone to other things, plus something far less academic (not to mention more enjoyable) for a change!!!
