I have to say that after the release of LTMF I will now be keeping an extra sharp eye on Ebay Wink

I wish the book had contained the whole list of collectibles. What happens once we've nabbed all the favourites? Wink

Apparently there was a See Ya 'round ice bucket. Gryph will tell you more...

I think the True Colours video cassette and the laser-etched LP deserve honourable mention - 2 groundbreaking items from 1980!

Great, hope you enjoy it hellbilly59. I'm sure you will.

I've seen a See Ya Round promo match book. It might still be where i saw it. Look, i'd tell you where but then, everyone would know, & that'd be no fun now would it. Wink

Finished me second read through "Letters", just in case there was something i missed the first time round. I'm surprised Nigel didn't ask himself about the influence of being an avid Liverpool FC fan on his bass playing. Or is the answer to that question forthcoming in a 5 volume set! Big Grin

Look it just get's better with every read, doesn't it?

spelling, oh dear there is no b in liverpool. Roll Eyes

Got my book over here in heatwave (sorry, correction, autumnal) England.

Gotta say, this is fantastic. Love everything about it - so worth the wait.

The biggest surprise though, was the size of the thing... I was expecting it to be large enough to house the CD that (almost) came with it! Smiler

Hmm found our reel to reel of the Merry Xmas Tape, also makes me think that the version I have been listening to many years ago is direct from this.....it's just on 23 minutes long and DOES have some of 'Best Friend' on it. Now 23 minutes was probably way to long for the actual single, so I'd say soemthing was cut....
I do need to visit some friends who have a record player and play our 'never before played' copy (I am intrigued now).

The reel to reel box (7 1/2 IPS) does have the catalogue number S213 so eveen if this tape is messed I'd say there would be a betetr master reel in the vaults (maybe?) but YEP some of 'Best Friend' is on it. (Phew).

Notice the book and some blurb got mentioned in BEAT magazine this week. (:

There was an Enz with a Bang ice bucket as well as everyone receiving etched Enz with a Bang wine glasses at the farewell party in Auckland...haven't seen a See ya Round one though. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist....Enz items are still coming in. I just bought some of the dutch Split Enz colelctor cards that were done for the Dutch PUNKS swap cards...and these I'd only seen 1 or 2 of previously....just got these this week so yeah items still keep appearing.

Yes the matches Enz with a Bang DO exist, 5000 boxes were made, and most were left at various bars around town.....a lot were mailed to fans
and hopefully at the time we didn't accidentally burn any mailing boxes to the ground in doing so.......(Yieks)
Gryph.

Yeah the reason the True Colours laser etched didn't make it, it's not really super collectible, you can still get mint condition copies (particularly in America) and in Australia the laser etched sold a Platinum album's worth, so as much as it was a 'collectors' item I thought it was a bit too easy to obtain to make it onto the super list... as far as T.C. video tape, same sort of reasons, it wasn't too hard to get, the 'Time & Tide' Video with colour cover is probably a more collectible tape.

Well I crossed off another of the Enz collectibles today...the phonecard. How many of these were printed, Gryph?

Oops! I believe you may be right! It must be an 'Enz With A Bang' ice bucket. I wasn't 100% sure...

i've got my jigsaw now, 11 more things to go! on closer reading now that my initial excitement caused me to skim read has passed, one of my favourite lines would have to be in the Tim interview "PG: Noel Crombie man or myth?
Tim: NO! he's a hybrid man and myth!"

Where did you find that SD?

I already have the jigsaw - I've had it for years, still in its plastic wrap because I didn't want to risk losing any of the pieces.

I've never seen a phone card for sale though Smiler

The Phone Cards were done in NZ around the time of the Anniversary Tour. They sold out almost over night and they were selling at those phone card collectors stores for 10 times the price.

We had some for really reasonable prices on the Enz merchandise table at the shows. They would sell out within an hour. No idea what they are valued at these days, and it depends on where you live, some countries phone cards are more collectable. There is also the True Colours phone card in Australia (purple and yellow cover). The Australian card is not as valuable (hence not making the list in the book) as the NZ one because a lot more were done. NZ I think it was just a few thousand, maybe less.

SD should I ask how much you paid for it... I hope it was a bargain.

$20.00 is a brilliant price...I think the collector stores were selling them for $85 NZ day after release.
