Er, hello.

I was quite overjoyed when I discovered that a Split Enz DVD existed, and then very disappointed when after a quick look on Amazon, it appeared that there was no way for English people to purchase it.

Does anyone know if there's any way to to get my hands on it? While living in England is generally convenient for most things, it's a bit of pain for people who like Split Enz. Roll Eyes

Hello giveitawhirl and welcome to this forum!

Try www.chaos.com or www.sanity.com.au, they still have the DVD available.

Good luck.

Remember to be careful of the zones! you might be able to get it somewhere else, but then it won't play on your CD player.

I had to be reminded of this when i was going to send my pal who teaches at oxford some stuff. Crappy. Frowner

I know exactly what you mean zebrasnake Roll Eyes, I've only just now ordered the Woodface documentary and I'm still not a full 100 % sure it'll work until I actually see it on the TV-screen.

BUT I had no problem with the Enz DVD, and it's stated "PAL" and "all regions" on the sites I mentioned, so I thought in London you should have no trouble playing it either.

cool, it's good to have resources like you, lamb, who know such things. imagine ordering something, getting all excited that it came, and then not being able to play it!!

it's pure tragedy.

thanks for being so helpful. Smiler

Most DVD players these days play all regions of DVDs. I haven't had a problem with that in a good 3 to 4 years.

Good luck!

I think it really depends on your DVD player. Computer ones tend to play a lot more than do stand alone players, but unfortunately my new(ish) machine came region set so I cannot play anything but zone 4 or region free DVDs on it *mutter mutter*. Then there is the PAL/NTSC issue, but again not a problem on most computers - especially if your drive is a
DVD burning one.

You should be cool with the Woodface doco, lamb, as it's also region free and Pal.

Hi giveitawhirl,

Don't despair about living in England! All sorts of Enz goodies can be had from sanity.au.

I bought most of the Enz CDs from them a couple of years ago, then I got the DVD (which is region free, so plays anywhere) (and it's an essential purchase Smiler). Then when the CDs were remastered and improved, I bought them all again a few months ago.

The Aussie money isn't worth much, so it means you get everything for a few Great British Pounds Wink. Postage is pretty cheap, and the stuff doesn't take long to arrive either. Don't pay Amazon import prices, shop at Antipodean outlets.

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the welcome and all the advice!

I think I'll give sanity.com.au a go, and drag this topic up again if and when I get my hands on the DVD...

Got my copy some weeks ago via Ebay. It's only 9,99 AUD plus postage at The Music Shop. As I've bought every Enz item they sell there, I can nothing but recommend this shop. Great and quick service.

Just to add to the confusion, usually I'd recommend checking out JB Hi Fi over and above Sanity, as their prices tend to be far better. However, for the UK postage is cheaper in this instance making Sanity your better choice for just the DVD.

Another place to check for stuff is Real Groovy it's in $NZ so worth even less pounds, but right now they only have a second hand copy of the DVD that doesn't compare so well. Overall agree with the advice already given though, definitely check out the online versions of the main retailers Down Under and eBay can be a great source of stuff too if you're prepared to wait.
