I have been on a long holiday of Australia and New Zealand. I am coming to the end of it now. I have now got 3 weeks casual work in Auckland to keep me going until the Split Enz tour starts. Being half Kiwi and half English and spent most of my life livng in the UK have been a big fan of OZ/NZ music for a long time and I am so happy to be going to all 4 gigs on the tour. I think most of the tickets I have are good seats. see you all at the gigs.

It's coming up so fast, I'm hoping we are all ready at our end too.....

I haven't asked Noel about costumes .... the same merchandise company ARE doing the NZ merch, which is good as they tend to do higher quality shirts etc.

Does that mean your back is a bit better and you're likely to make it TR? Hope so.

I get to have another two weeks after the concert, holidaying in the South Island. Big Grin

Bliss.

I've decided I'm going anyway hk. I'm in bed full time to try and get it strong enough to travel, and it is helping. If it hadn't been for the Enz concerts I would have postponed the trip. As it is, I can spend the rest of my life regretting not going, or choose to go armed to the teeth with painkillers and anti-inflammatories. So I've made my decision. Smiler

Sounds like the Enz concert is going to be the start of a great holiday for you Big Grin What a way to kick it off.

The closer it gets, the more excited I am, and its really the only thing that has kept my head above water during the last 3 months. There's nothing like a dose of the Enz Big Grin

Texas Rose, you are a woman after my own heart Big Grin good on you.

I know from having an on-going health issue myself there are many things I am not willing to do, BUT if it is involving The Crowdies or The Enz then you just know I have to find a way, they are among the best medicine I have had.

I am so excited, almost finished packing and can hardly wait to meet up with all you wonderful people and see our guys Big Grin

Oh, and I'd really love to hear them play Things Wink

Yesssss - perhaps if all of us call out for that song, they'll crumble under the pressure? (Okay, more realistically, perhaps if both of us call out for that song, they'll take pity... Big Grin Wink).

The doctor thinks I should go FG, and I am rather sensitive to pain ( Roll Eyes), so I feel the risk is worth it. It is a serious injury, and there's no doubt about that, but it will seriously do my head in if I miss them. Wink

You'll be able to pick me, quite apart from the very red, very short hair. I'll be the only one carrying a PINK hemaroid ring Eeker Big Grin Cool

Man, I hope these venues allow people to stand, and/or go to the front (for the sake of my dignity). Big Grin

Texas Rose, I think you have made the right decision! I know what it feels like if you are not feeling well whilst going to an Enz gig. Roll Eyes But it helps, it really does! On ya, girl!

Keep us posted... as I still haven't won the lottery I will only be there in spirit. Smiler So you have to tell us all about it!!

We'll be thinking of you, and no doubt there'll be reviews. Big Grin

My only concern is that my back was so badly damaged that I lost all the feeling in the toes on my left foot (and some feeling in the heel). The feeling is mostly back now, but when I push it, they get incredibly sore, then the feeling starts to go again. That is possibly what I'll need to get my head around if I've pushed it too far.

It nearly did my head in the first time around (its frightening and absolutely horrible), but I understand its not permanent. The Enz never reforming again probably is permanent Big Grin (Even if they reform and play Europe, it is highly unlikely I'd get there).

I've changed our 10 hour bus trip to a one hour plane trip, from Wellington to Auckland.

Its a decision I've made for better or worse. And although this won't be my last trip to New Zealand by any means, I just really couldn't bear to let this go.

Plus sharing the Enz experience in New Zealand with my niece... it doesn't get any better than that Smiler

Can't wait yemanja Smiler

I saw your other post on the 9 day thread - we'll also be in Christchurch this time next week. Big Grin Big Grin

My niece was asking me about the weather in NZ the other day, and telling me she doesn't own any jumpers etc. She doesn't even own a hoodie. Eeker

I told her that means we'll need to pick up a Split Enz hoodie for her at the first show Wink Big Grin Not that I need any good reasons or excuses. Just hope they're part of the merchadise over there.

This could get way out of control. Its only fair that I have something exciting to divert my attention away from other stuff. Merch should fit the bill "hlike a glove" Big Grin And its a well known fact that the more merch you buy, the more successful the diversion is likely to be Cool

So excited about this. Where has the "3 weeks" gone?

Watch this space Terabithia - the people here do really, really good reviews of shows, so no doubt you'll be reading all about it. Big Grin

Not as good as being there, I know, but its a lifeline. Smiler
