ever have one of those moments when you do a double-take, cause you just can't believe what you just saw? i had one last week i thought i might share.

i happened to be in Texas on a business trip, and while driving from Dallas in to Denton i found myself stopped at a traffic light. i happened to be listening to the 7 Worlds Collide cd at the time (specifically, I See Red).

so i'm killing time waiting for the light to turn green, and looking at the various buildings -- when what should i come across but a hair salon called Split Enz. now i'm sure there are any number of these types of places around, but it's the first i've ever seen. so there's the double-take moment, and realizing I See Red was on my player at the time gave me the heebie jeebies.

so the next time you happen to be in Denton, Texas look out!!

In years gone by, I recall seeing a hair salon called Split Enz...seems like an appropriate name, huh. Also remember seeing a clothing store called True Colours. What's next? - a music shop called Mental Notes?

Do a Google.com search for "Split Enz" and "Hair Salon" and see how many hits you get!

Well, geddy, it might be a lawsuit if another musical artist was calling themselves Split Enz and trying to get rich via this. However, methinks any other use of the name Split Enz in a business sense is totally legit. Just like how you can't claim exclusive rights to a song title.

here's one not too far from me. i know it's not quite the same, but still, i always got a kick of it. nice to be randomly cruising down the street and see a business that is reminiscent of an excellent band

My husband and I have begun a beer-brewing company right out of our apartment, and our brand name is Bullet Brain and Cactus Head .
So far we've only made one kind, but it was pretty good. My husband made these cool buttons that we're going to attach to the bottles .

i'd love to see how many people stab themselves in the lip with buttons as they drink!

and how do you attach a button to a beer bottle???

good name for it tho, totally encaptures the dual personalities that arise thru boozing....

My hairdresser just went to work for a new salon near my home---Split Ends, I smile everytime I go in -- my hairdresser is in on why-- I WOULD end up going to salon with this name on it!
