Finally got time to sit down and watch the DVD.

...and it's fantastic. The sound was nice and clean (unlike other live DVDs, Crowded House I am looking at you). The actual look is also excellent. Am I wrong or does the footage switch from video to film to video? A minor question I know.

What did disappoint me was the lack of 'doco' footage. We had a little bit with the end credits but I thought some more behind-the-scenes stuff would have been great, even if it was just the interview on 60 minutes. I'm assuming that there was a lot more footage shot at rehearsals and backstage so why not use it?

Of course the actual performance was top notch as always, the setlist sensible (I'm sure every Enzaholic had a song they wished the band played instead of something else but that's the price of being a dedicated fan) and even the on stage banter was spot on. Who could fail but to love a frisbee contest between Neil and Eddie huh?

All in all and everything summed up, a great DVD and one that'll be playing on a regular basis. Besides from that manufacture glitch, it receives a thumbs up from me.

I too noticed the switch from Video to Film, but that's cause I've been studying for VCE media all week and it's been ingrained into me Razzer

As far as I know it's a Region 0 DVD, so yes it will play on a UK DVD player.

I actually burst out laughing when I heard Noel singing Poor Boy, I definetly didn't hear that on the night!

(mods, can we make this a sticky to go with Luton?)

observations after my 50th viewing:

Has anyone noticed that before I Hope I Never the third backdrop is up, and then it changes to the second during the song, and then it goes back to the third for Bold As Brass... some niggling continuity issues there methinks

and there's not enough shots of Nigel!

Can't remember where it was on the DVD, but I noticed a doozy of a continuity error...from a right-hand camera angle, Tim is seen strapping on an acoustic guitar just before the start of a song, then seconds later the camera angle changes to front on from a distance and he's seen minus the guitar!

I picked up my copy today at JB in Perth (at least I think that's where I was). We had a viewing the other night in Adelaide and honestly, bugger the continuity or whatever other issues there may be, it's bloody fantastic to finally have this footage!

No complaints here.

I went looking for a copy and couldn't find one out in the Perth suburbs. I wish we had picked up a copy from JBs while we were still in town Saturday morning.

Got my copy on sale in K Mart today. $19.90. Worth every penny. Packaging is fantastic, just like the Program I bought at the concert.
Can't wait to peel the security seal off and have a look.

I got my copy at JBs yesterday and watched it with my husband last night. A shame about the fault but it is a great dvd.

It sure brought back memories from the show last year. What a blast!

Had my son watching for a bit while we were doing something else and try as he might, he couldn't hold back a grin at some of the antics towards the end of the show.

Watched my sister's version - even with the problem, which we knew was coming, it was a blast.

The sound is great. I loved it all and more. I just loved how happy they all looked. Neil looks like he's having the time of his life.

Glad we got the frisbee comp. That was hysterical watching it live, so it's great to have it recorded for posterity!

Loved the bits of them backstage between the encores and Elliot Finn reaching up to touch her dad's wet hair - too cute!

i wouldn't worry jon. i bought a copy from a real groovy here in nz. turned out to be faulty. i emailed warner direct. didn't hear anything back from them during the last week & a half, & so was about to return the dvd. however i opened my mailbox this morning to find a replacement dvd from warner waiting for me... so now i have the fixed replacement copy & the original (hopefully one days collector edition... one can dream?) faulted dvd

big thanks to warner, bloody good of you guys

While I think the DVD is great, and no disrespect to any of the Frenz who were there, the crowd seem quite flat to me. Especially whenever they show the upstairs seats, where the punters seem to be sitting on their hands! Even some of the floor crowd seem unexcited a lot of the way through. But of course all the Frenz were loving the whole thing! Oh well, could be worse...like the Police 'Synchronicity Concert' where they dropped in audience shots from another Police show!!!

Gav, I was sitting on my hands Razzer it was so cold up the back, and you couldn't really get into it as much as those up the front of Rod Laver Arena it was still great, but I'd prefer even a slightly smaller venue

Yeah, but I bet you were clapping and cheering on the inside, Foxy! Big Grin

I prefer smaller venues too...makes for a much more intimate atmosphere that you just don't get at the back of a modern-day barn.
