We always get emails asking about Enz promotional items around the albums etc .... I thought I'd raid our archives and mention a few here from the past (and no, none of these are available any longer).

The Noel Chrysalis Head (USA) is one of the early items. Complete with comb. You sprinkle grass seed on it and hey presto Clay Noel head has hair. Comes in a pink 'Split Enz' kit box.

Time & Tide- egg timer. Has the logo from the album on one aside, sea shells and pearls in a plastic square and a workable egg timer...

See Ya Round Jigsaw Puzzle. The album cover, in B&W jigsaw form. These were used for media and a big chunk for the fan-club. Every so often one appears on Ebay. 42 pieces-just counted them.

Corroboree-Waiata watch. Made in the USA with the album cover on the watch face, comes in a gold box. I think 100 were done. We gave a few away in a fan-club contest. never seen one on Ebay.

True Colours- original B&W cover with Enz Penz to colour in your own True Colours design. You won a 3 in 1 sound system. 100 of the B&W covers were signed by the band and available with LP via the fanclub. The signed B&W's are probably the rarest of the True Colour covers.

Conflicting Emotions writing pad, plastic pens and badge set. I think we used these pads for several years, we had so many done- full colour with CE cover design.

Enz safari pants. These were done in NZ with Split Enz on the back pocket and 1977 on the other. Off white, and 2 styles- mens and womens.
Mostly for promotion but a few pairs were sold as part of merchandise. Kind of ugly but I also like them for their ugliness (:

Matches- See ya Round (orange and black) and Enz with a Bang (B&W) match sets. Made in Melbourne

Phone cards- the NZ one for the 20th Anniversary Tour. This ended up selling for quite a high price from day one. NZ was always a solid collector of phone cards- and the collectors jumped on this one. Also as part of Mushrooms Anniversary the True Colours (Purple & Yellow) card was released in Australia.

Folder Sets- The Blue Chrysalis-Dizrythmia Folders were always nice. Photo, Chrysalis review sheet,Hair Raising Music drawing by Robert, In Concert sheet (songs), Marley Brants 'forward' sheet and depending which show- Nga Tama Maori Tribute sheet or Sam Angelico-Magician Mime sheet. used as a promo item as well as being sold at some Dizrythmia shows.

Enz with a Bang- Tour- Folder. Orange folder wth facts, photos on it. 8x10 photo inside, disography sheet, Tour date sheet.

3XY solid clip school folder. Has I See Red colour image on front. Given away and sold by radio 3XY in Melbourne as part of the Under 18s Concert promotion.

WAIATA USA folder- covered in those pastel Waiata covers. Contains 8x10 photos,Bio sheet and release sheet.

True Colours 1980 baggage tags, Large round tags-yellow and blue- black print for the world tour. Champion Music in NYC did these- and they were both promotional and practical. 80% were sent out with the tour itinerary to media the rest used on the tour on our bags. Quite sturdy mine still exists in great condition, though I've taken it off our tour bag in case it gets stolen by a collector!

Anyway that's only a few ...I've avoided badge sets, posters etc as there are so many.

Just fun to know some of the quirky items that were available. I've probably missed quite a few promo items but thought I'd mention just a couple.

Yes totally we still have one big roll left! Nice purple waiata logos. I guess they were handy to deck out window displays in the stores at the time.!

I still wish we would of pursued the Noel Crombie 1978 era PEZ heads! I always thought it was one of my better ideas *GRIN*.

Peter Have you ever heard of Figurines of Split enz members in various outfits? perhaps like they've done and still do with Kiss.

It would be cool to see at least three sets of differing Outfits from alternating years.

I know a fan made Tim a small TF '76 figurine around the time of one of the reunion tours and it is one of his favourite items.

I'd love to see some figurines in the 'B&W' cozzies that would be cool...

I couldn't see the Jigsaw but I did spot some of our Enz 2000 Black CREW shorts (Henry Rollins would love these babies!!!).

I think I had about 100 of these done, around 25 -30 went to band and crew, so I'd say 70 were sold as part of the Merch to the general public.

I also saw one of those very cool Enz Tea-towels/washing up cloths on Ebay. I remember when we decided we would do these, like the Enz Punk 'snot' reissue T-shirt we thought tea towels would be a bit different. Sally Crombie & myself both wanted these-they came up really well-one of my favourite pieces of merchandise from the tour. The Finn clan grabbed a swag of these. I think they all sold out by the time we got to Perth, and same for the Enz scarf's.

Fun items all of these.
