It would be great if the fan club could put out a fanclub DVD of the whole of Liam finns set and Split Enz set from this weekends set for all the Frenz of the Enz member around the world that can't go to this concert?

Wow, Sam, I understand you're excited about the concert, but you probably didn't need to create three new topics about it! Roll Eyes

To answer your questions though (as best as I can, in no official capacity)...

1. There is no indication at this stage, just 24 hours before the event, that it will be streamed anywhere on the net. So I'm guessing no.

2. The full video of Liam, Split Enz, etc, will probably somehow end up on the net, in perfect quality. Probably one of those seedy (no pun intended) bootleg sharing sites we can't mention here. Wink The way the net is it will probably end up on YouTube the same night!

3. The main hurdle I can see for a fan club DVD, would be that it draws revenue away from the official DVD and CD releases that will come out as further fundraisers for the bushfire victims. Of course, there could be a possibility that the funds from a potential fan club DVD are donated to the appeal, but that's getting rather complicated. Bear in mind the club DVDs are usually runs of just 100. If the performances end up on a club DVD I think it would be later rather than sooner.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I don't wanna attack you or anything sam28, but was it really necessary to create three threads?

Anyway, I've yet to hear that anything will be streamed over the internet and (at least here, anyway) it's not being televised. A DVD or CD for charity might be in the works after the concert's done, but it's too early to tell. I certainly do hope there is a release, not so much because I want to see these performances (though I certainly do) but more because any potential profits from sales could go to the bushfire funds. Here's hoping!

At this stage there will be the official DVD and CD- with money going to Bushfire Fund-as it should be.

Just too early to say what's on it-we'll know soon enough

This has taken some time to update. The SOUND RELIEF dvd will happen. No CD though.

The main reason for the delay is the huge amount of red tape to wade through- so many acts- so many clearances.

The Enz are about 99% positive, Eddie checking on the sound side of things.
Neil-Tim-Nick just waiting for the OK on this, I'd expect Neil and co would like to check on the footage/sound first.
Liam has said yes- i think it's 2 songs from him?
We will have more details in the VIP email and next glossy newsletter. It will be out on Liberation later on in the year. (Yes before Christmas).

As we mentioned on the VIP email a month or so back. Two tracks from 'Crowded House' (or whatever we called them on the day)... BETTER BE HOME AND DONT DREAM.

I'm fairly sure it's all the Enz songs-Eddies been working on the sound.

Still October as of 2 weeks ago. My Liberation mate working on it is away so still waiting for that exact release date.

Sound Relief to released as a 4 DVD set.

Sound Relief, the charity concert for the Victoria bushfire and Queensland
flood victims will be released as a 4DVD set in October.

Micheal Gudnski's Liberation Music will release the document of one of
Australia's greatest shows for Australia's biggest tragedy.

In a statement, Michael said, " Sound Relief was literally born from the
ashes of a terrible time in Australia's history. The concerts became so much
more than just a charity fundraising event; they were a way for the
community to unite and heal.

"I'm overjoyed that the DVD release can go ahead and we can't express our
appreciation enough to the artists and everyone involved who helped make it
possible. Since the day of the concert we've received so many enquires about
whether the concerts would be released on DVD that I wouldn't be surprised
if this became the highest selling DVD in Australian history.

"It is fitting that a lasting record will be available of this once in a
lifetime event for future generations."

The artists that appeared on Sound Relief who will appear on the DVD are:

From Melbourne:

Augie March
Bliss N Eso with Paris Wells
Gabriella Cilmi
Hunters & Collectors
Jack Johnson
Jet
Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson with Troy Cassar-Daley
Kings of Leon
Kylie Minogue
Liam Finn and the Finn Family Band
Midnight Oil
Paul Kelly
Split Enz
Wolfmother

From Sydney:

Architecture in Helsinki
Barry Gibb and Olivia Newton-John
Coldplay and John Farnham
Eskimo Joe
Hoodoo Gurus
Icehouse
Jet
Josh Pyke
Little Birdy
Marcia Hines
Taylor Swift
The Presets
