Aah, the Countdown film clip to I Got You, it's what made me a Split Enz fan when I saw it on Countdown.

My brother had this awesome compilation record called Full Boar that had I Got You on it, after hearing that and seeing the flim clip, even as a four year old, I was hooked.
I've just found the cover, gee this take me back:

I am trying to find the clips for Dirty Creature and the I Hope I Never with Neil on piano but have not come across them yet,I am sure they used to be there ?

I've watched that intro by Tim and Neil numerous times now.

I also remember when that, and the others, aired on Countdown.

What a trip down memory lane. We're so lucky to have been associated with such a brilliant band over such a long span of time.

It gives the newer and younger fans more or less the same chance to enjoy and love the music as we *cough* *ahem* older fans had.

There's something passing strange about this version of "I Got You." It sounds like the album version, but when the shot focuses in on Tim alone during the refrain, somehow my ears are tricked into hearing primarily Tim's voice - not Neil's! As if they'd traded off lead vocal, Neil verse Tim refrain.

Yet my mind knows that in the song itself, Neil belts out the refrain and Tim's distinct background vocal can be heard.

Have my ears gone weird? Is this a different mix? I mean...ordinarily I would not particularly have said Neil's and Tim's voices would be easily confused.

EDIT: ooh, look at Eddie! All T2 and menacing.

How Many Countdown Clips?

Peter notes the full list of Countdown performances. Would still love to see the Hard Act To Follow with Viking helmets - sounds like a riot.

I believe the Pioneer/6 Months clip from the "other Australian show" that Peter speaks of is the Paul Hogan show. I used to have that clip way back in the 80s but it's long gone.

Interesting choice of costumes in that performance, Eddie's wearing Noel's outfit, Nigel's wearing Mike's, Neil's wearing Rob's, Tim's wearing his own and Noel's wearing one I haven't seen before, but I'm guessing it's from the true colours set
