Feeeling the same pain here too! Itching to see CH again. Only five weeks ago since Salzburg (and still mentally replaying, but eagerly awaiting news of new dates). Anywhere will do...!!! And I do mean anywhere, although I think the guys might draw the line at my garden shed, although it is quite warm in there and backstage refreshments will be top class!! Those Russia gigs were small, well, this would be REALLY small!!! Big Grin

Tell me about it! It's not far off a year since I saw them (well 3 months away anyway Red Face )

Saying that, I'm more eager to know when the new album will be out, as it has been a year and 2 months since TOE was released Frowner

Since they just played Russia, I'm expecting them to invade Georgia anytime now.

I hope for your sake they play some Aussie gigs soon, although it's a shame/paradox that in the places where the band is biggest (i.e. Australia/NZ/UK) they play arenas & fans have to watch from seats 50 yards away, whereas in places where they're not so well-known they play standing venues in front of just a few hundred...I was gobsmacked by how small the venue was when I saw them in Salzburg - the whole venue could've almost fitted into the security gap between fans & stage at Glastonbury.

Actually, where is Neil/the band based now? Is Neil still in Bath? Are they recording the new album in Oz/NZ? Perhaps the next gig will be a small show somewhere in the vicinity of where they're recording?

i read somewhere this week he was in NZ so who knows

I was gutted when CH didnt come far north as Newcastle esp the city hall they did play there as HIm as the FB and I know theyve played there as CH moons ago so i ended up going to MEN which was a cool gig and i got close enough due to my wits and resiliance lol Smiler but I so wish to see them in one of thier more infamous low key cosy gigs Frowner and like your shed my house is always open Big Grin

Hi Alkady
I think with the last Aussie tour that was mostly the large venues to accommodate the crowds who hadn't seem them since the Opera House. (Remember too in that period Crowdies had the 2nd biggest selling aussie album ever by a group and they split up- so there were large crowds wanting the live experience that never had the chance during the time they were broken up). Hmm not sure about any small shows when they record but I'd love to see some small ones around the Homebake gig. I'm sure they do too, as there is something rewarding about smallish gigs and they've always done them. I think they always will and despite recent comments I think if we are patient some fans will be rewarded handsomely. I can't imagine it being a full on tour as there has to be time for recording and of course Nick becoming a dad. To be honest I have no dates on our work board- but the guys have pretty much always done the right thing (example Corner shows, Prahran Town hall, Prahran Club, etc) so hopefully a similar formula around Homebake. We'll all know soon I expect?

Finns are based in NZ, think Bath has been thrown out with the Bath-water? Lets face it having that brilliant studio of NFs must just tempt him so much musically and Sharon's work rooms are in the same building- so why would they move elsewhere? Nick is mostly in Dublin but also down on the coast when he comes back(surfs up). Mark, Matt USA. Management UK, and of course we are lovely spring- like Kalorama!

Saying all that, Newcastle has had such brilliant Crowdies shows, especially at the Town Hall- that 4 encore night was one of the most magical crowded house shows I've ever seen- maybe they are fearful of never reaching those magical heights again in newcastle *grin* (am joking). Not sure why, I was hoping for a Wollongong show so I could sneak home and score a roast lunch out of mum!!!

I still think a Tassie show is long overdue and have been saying this for years now, Tasmania gets so few people playing and much as I truly disliked John Farnham at least he played Tasmania and of course Northern territory would be cool. Tasmania is like WA as far as costings as you lose a few days in transport and have to pay crew etc so it's always more as far as budget, so that could be part why.

Anyway hope some of you get to see small shows.

Gryph

I am very tempted to have a tee-shirt made 'I believe in Finn' or something like that. I know our guys would'nt overlook us and okay this part is maybe very selfish of me but *gulp* I am counting my lucky stars that there has'nt been a show just yet since I have been very sick since getting back from Hamilton, I'm sending out vibes into the universe to be better for December..I've got my Homebake ticket and I hope I can use it.
Putting in a plug for the Newcastle area too, some of my best friends live up that way(you know who you are)loved seeing The Finn Brothers at The Civic, hey Gryph if the boys play in Wollongong you can come up the road to my place too for a cuppa...loved seeing The Finns and Neil solo down The Gong way in 2001/2004
I keep dreaming about The Vanguard in Sydney have a Crowdies sign out the front (I've never even been in the place)
It brings me a lot of comfort believing we will be blessed to see them in a small room again, perhaps by year's end Smiler

Yeah usually the town hall gigs are all ages, the newcastle leagues club was obviously over 18.

Newcastle like Wollongong just keeps spreading and growing as far as residents so you'd like to think some wise promoter would have them play both places further down the track. Lets hope so 'fallingforyou' I'd really love to see them back at your Town Hall- a fine venue.

Another thing about the NZ concerts, quite alot of the crowd came to see Supergroove so if they come again there will be at least 100 less
