No problem! Ultimately I think me and mikelm both share the same concern: to jump unbidden to the defense of Radiohead fans! Big Grin

PG, I echo the sentiments of the original poster silent stream, thanking you for going so often beyond the call of duty! And thanks also for quickly chiming in, even if you yourself are also at the mercy of not having any news to share.

We wait alongside you with bated breath!

I took that to be a tongue in cheek reference to the Radiohead lyric "I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo", and didn't assume it was meant in any degree of seriousness. Which is why I responded with the next 2 lines to the song Wink I don't think anyone was meaning to slag anyone. Especially since, presumably, Neil is a Radiohead fan, given that he invited Phil Selway and Ed O'Brien to both 7WC projects!

One of the few misteps Neil's made. Let's hope there's never a reprise of Neil singing Bodysnatchers.

The second night was respectable, the third was quite good. I think there was nothing wrong with his decision to cover the song, he just had an off-moment the first night. As a human he should be allowed a few of those Wink

You got it, Half-Full, although there may have been a bit of harmless irony in there as I can imagine how obsessive some fans of 'said' band could get.

I'm sure, if I was younger, I'd be getting pretty tense and paranoid myself if one of my favourite bans kept delaying releases. Of course, not having the internet at our disposal, we were none the wiser back in the day.

I'm not a fan of Radiohead myself but my sister is and they are an obviously talented band.

So, as they say in the classics, it's all good.

IF the release gets delayed beyond end May, do we think that some tour dates could get postponed......if there's no product to push then is there any point from the band's perspective?

They better not - I don't want to miss them cause I've got a gig,or on holiday or something. Frowner

Everything's working out really well just now - touch wood.Going to:

Powderfinger 28th April Glasgow
Crowdies 19th and 21st May - Glasgow and Edinburgh respectivley.
Macca 20th June Glasgow.

It doesn't get much better than that.

i could start again - you can depend on it

Nah, why would they delay a tour where the majority of the shows have sold out anyway?

Sure, it will mean they wont get the usual tour-increase in new album sales, but there's no way they would delay a whole sell-out tour just because the album will be late.

From my point of view, European album sales aren't something they should worry about anyway.

Never thought coming to defense of RH would get so blown out of proportion, but you're right NCH, it's all good...

Apart from anything else,it make sense to see a band - hear the new tracks, and then want to buy the album. You don't HAVE to buy the album before you see them live.

Isn't there some precendent here? If I remember correctly, the Finn Brothers began touring in support of their last album before it had been released.

I can't imagine that the CH tour would be postponed.

Just to clarify, Mike Bradshaw is management for both Neil and the band. Personally, I can't see what the worry is - with or without a new CD, the band are touring and all will come out in the wash sooner rather than later. Chill pills required me thinks Big Grin

Stuart/JamieB - couldn't agree more... not quite sure where the delayed tour idea was dreamed up from, it is completely inconceivable that a band could announce and sell out a string of shows, then cancel them just cos the album is slipping by a few weeks. The credibility/reputation damage would be massive. Personally, I prefer album before tour, to be able to familiarise with the songs and sing along, and also because a CD always sounds a bit flat after hearing it live, but really, I'm being a bit fussy - so long as I get both at some point I'm happy Smiler

Hi all -- i cant help but thinking if our answer to the album delay lies somewhere in this debt filled implosion of emi - read this link

Ain't it great how in this world a company can be doing alright, then be bought out by cretins looking to make a quick buck, loading the company up with huge debts in the process, and turning it from something that is running alright (if not setting the world alight) to a complete disaster?
