What a interesting read. I remember when that happened and was saddened to hear about the loss of John O'Shannessy. I actually remember seeing search and rescue attempts from underneath the Worker's Club recently but for the life of me I can't remember which TV show it was on. It certainly looks as if a greater power was looking after the bands and road crews that day. Thank God the earthquake struck when it did and not 12 hours later.

Really poignant article, thanks for posting Kelly. The fact that it was written from a personal perspective makes it an interesting read.

I agree with your sentiment ash1296, I can't even begin to imagine what it would have been like if it was 12 hours later. Scary thought, that.
