I think you'll find that Tim was doing background vocals on that as well as on In Your Command.

After John's perfomance on the webcast here's his latest blog

After The Webcast

Wasn't that fun, I really enjoyed myself last night as did all the band.
I didn't enjoy being put on the spot and having to do an impromptu solo during Pineapple Head, I like to practice but the band said they loved so I suppose it was alright.
We had some wacky emails that weren't read out...and yes, I wore a green T-shirt b/c it was St. Patrick's Day.
Anyway, today is a day off, our first in 10 days, yay! but I have to pack up all the gear for the show tomorrow so I suppose I don't really have a day off but I have all day to do it so can be as casual as I like.
I hope you all enjoyed the webcast, we had a lot of fun doing it and I hope there will be more in the future.
I like them better than shows b/c it's so laidback, no rushing, we have time to muck around and there's none of the pressure of a show.
Ok, I'm off to pack up the gear.

Can't post on myspace (won't join Smiler) but if you read this thread, John, you were *inspiring* yesterday, being put on the spot and coming through like a champ. I actually got nervous for you and I don't even know you but I'll remember your great example of performance under pressure! You know that you were living pretty much every fan's dream right there Smiler

I hope the blog entries keep coming and I was *most* encouraged by the line "I hope there will be more [webcasts] in the future".

Here's the post Bristol blog

Bristol Gig

Man, what a good gig, apart from the load-in, two flights of stairs and a dozen really heavy roadcases, thankfully I had help from Peter, Che, Leo and two of the Thekla staff I managed to convince to lend a hand.
That was a first for all of us, playing in the hull of a ship, but enjoyed by the band and audience.
I was busy during the show, playing, handing off guitars, fixing knocked over amps etc.
It was good to have Elroy there and to see him get up and play on Silent House.
Also good to meet a few of you guys afterwards in the bar, nice to put faces to names.
I'm off home soon for two and a bit weeks, then we go to America and prepare for the Coachella Festival, a weeks rehearsal in Los Angeles then three shows.
After returning all the gear it's pretty much a day off today so I'm watching the cricket and it's looking like New Zealand will beat Kenya, well I hope so...I don't give Kenya much hope of scoring 332 but you never know until it's over.

If all the warm up gigs are at largo why not open all of them to all of the USA Fan club members by having a contest to have tickets to attend. I know some fans would travel, fly in for that awesome opportunity to see the band in the small setting. Have a fan clun meet & greet show. I for one would travel to see it!

The big picture for spring from our advocate:

A productive five weeks I think, new songs for the album, a successful webcast, the first show out of the way and the band are as happy as can be with the work completed.
Next stop for me is New Zealand, I leave good old England on Monday and am home for two weeks.
After that, we all assemble in Los Angeles w/our full crew thankfully, five days rehearsal and off to Tempe then Pomona and then the Coachella Festival, can't wait for that.
We're all back in the UK mid-June for three shows, after that I know nothing, it all hinges on the album release date.

thanks john!!!

John is in LA and CH will start rehearsing today!

Here's the latest from his blog.

Hi folks,
Just arrived at my hotel and I've already been to my favourite cafe ever, Urth Cafe on Melrose, they do the best Spanish latte I have ever had.
It's super hot here, and there's a Hummingbird nest outside my hotel balcony, very cool, never realised they were so tiny, minute is the word.
Going to the rehearsal space later on, we have a weeks rehearsal here in LA. Marcus and I are the only ones here at the moment, apart from Mark and Matt who live here, everyone else gets in tonight I think.
Tomorrow is a tech day for us crew guys to get our **** together and then Friday is band day, I look forward to it.

Here's the latest blog

Los Angeles Day Two

I had the strangest dream last night, in it I was playing cricket with Bob Marley at Logan Park in Dunedin, weird, he wanted to open the batting so that was cool, he was a good batsman too and he seemed to know me really well, talking to me like a good mate, I kept looking at him and saying but you're Bob Marley, how do you know me?...weird ****.
Anyway, got to rehearsal around 1230pm, got most of our gear set up, the band dropped in to say hi and hang out.
We all started to fade by 7.00pm so Mick and I went to...you guessed it...Poquito Mas, haha, I was there last night too.
Back at hotel now and sleep isn't too far away, rehearsal starts at 2.00pm tomorrow so we had better be ready.
Night all, and you! you know you could be here if you wanted.
Oh yeah, a Spanish Latte is made with condensed milk, really really good, better than any other latte I have ever had.
Oh yeah, the Hummingbird I was talking about has tiny little babies, they are really really small, I took a photo of the mum, have a look at my photos to see.

Here's some more blogs posted recently..

Los Angeles and the Cricket.

At rehearsal now, it was meant to be a day off but coz Mark got sick the band are going over the Coachella set today.
Mark's better by the way, a little whiter than previous days but alive.
New Zealand lost to Sri Lanka in the World Cup Cricket semi-final damn it, thrashed too, not just a loss but we were hammered, and South Africa just lost to Australia, damn damn damn, the bloody Australians are too good. I hope I live to see them lose occasionally.
Our Mickey Winder is all nervous b/c Liverpool are down 1-nil to Chelsea in the Champions League.
Actually that was the final score, Mickey just told me, poor Mickey and poor me (coz of the cricket).

Leaving Los Angeles

We are leaving LA very soon, on our way to Tempe, Arizona. Hurrah!

Tempe and the temperature

God it's hot here, gear is all loaded in and set up, waiting for the band now, I keep going outside for ciggies and it's so hot, more than the 30C I was told, more like a million degrees.
I got sunburnt.

The Gig

That was great, really enjoyable show.
The band seemed happy but they ****ed off pretty quickly so didn't get to ask.
Truck is all packed, sitting on the bus waiting for some reason.
Thankfully the temperature is very nice now, the sun today was killer hot.
Off to Pomona shortly, around seven hours the driver just said, we have the coolest driver we have ever had, he's covered in tattoos and our age, normally we get guys that are a million years old and carry handguns, his name is Todd and we like him.

Pomona and Palm Springs

Gig number two is over then, all were happy enough.
Good crowd too, I really enjoyed the crowd singing when prompted by Neil, sounded excellent.
Ran into Shon sullivan, he used to play guitar with Neil on his solo tour a few years back, he hasn't changed at all and he's such a nice guy, was good to see him.
Had a bit of fun on the bus driving to Palm Springs, didn't get to bed until 8am if you know what I mean, and am I suffering today. It is a day off though so that's why we decided to have a party.
Imagine having a stinking hangover and then getting off the bus into 100F heat, not much fun I can tell you.
So tomorrow is Coachella, the show we have been waiting for. I hope we don't have too many issues and the heat doesn't kill us.
Ok, I need to go to bed and rest my hurting head.

Coachella

We were up at 6.30am this morning to load our gear into the gig. We set up, line checked and rolled everything backstage.
It's so hot here, I heard 110F, that's 43C! I kid you not.
Just had lunch and with the heat I can hardly keep my eyes open, need to have a kindy nap, thankfully our bus is here and I appreciate the air conditioning very much.
If I have time I will write a little after the show, otherwise I'll have to do it when I get back to the hotel.
Did I mention it's hot? so much hotter than it ever gets in New Zealand, I have already drunk about five litres of water and haven't been for a pee once.
