LOL! Liam, what the HECK was that, young man?!

I love that Neil didn't make fun of him though.

Guess he wanted more to do on keyboards Smiler

I agree, Jeff, that was just fabulous! And SSS is great too. I get the feeling that they're saying "shove it" to the audience and they sound better with every song. It's great to hear.

I'm so glad they had the show on Friday night. It was such an amazing night and the crowd loved them. I'm not so sure about the crowd tonight.

Kermit that's why I'm sending infinite energies that they decide to come to Portland or at least play a club in Seattle. It would be a *crime* if they just play a festival up here for those of us who couldn't make it down there.

That was cool, go Liam. How good was the last shot and close up of Neil taking his mental shot?

Mark did great backing vocals on BBHS.
Hey what were the guitars Neil and Mark both had for Locked Out? Both Gold Tops? That song rocked.

Very good gotta love the net.

So glad I saw them in Tempe. Looked like Neil was wearing the same shirt, though -- looks good on him!

They did seem a little nervous but apparently it was a tough crowd. Jerks. For a while I was wishing they would show more of their funny side, until I realize it would have been wasted on that audience. Pearls before swine and all that.

I really enjoy what Matt brings to their sound, and particularly Private Universe tonight. Would have liked to have heard People Are Like Suns again, though. Could have done without the 50 shots of Mark's boots -- what was up with that?

The Show was GREAT!
As for the crowd, some of them WERE there for the guys and I'm glad Neil and Co showed the class and finesse that they are known for.

Wow, I just finished watching the show and the crowd was tough on them. Yes, I think they were chatting RAGE. I would agree, Neil did look a bit nervous. Bumbershoot should not be like that. I actually had the pleasure of seeing them there twice. It is sent up completely differently. There are about a dozen different stages so you go see the bands you want and can skip the others. It should be completely different. Bumbershoot is actually where my love for Crowded House began. It was their first album and I was just a teen in those days. How time flies!

class act, these guys. nothing not to love about em.

Indeed. Technology rocks.

Neil Finn is the very definition of grace. I hope security dragged those guys with the half-gallon jug out of there and they missed Rage Against the Machine, it would serve them right.

Loved the new stuff. Liam Finn--wow. More banter than I would have expected, given the venue and their short time onstage.

Bring on the album and Summer tour Smiler

Goodnight, all!

Coachella Setlist:
When You Come
World Where You Live
Don't Dream It's Over
Don't Stop Now
Fall At Your Feet
Silent House
Private Universe
Locked Out
Something So Strong
Better Be Home Soon

With the audience behaviour during all this I was glad that I couldn't see any of it. Eeker
Had crystal clear audio thou. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Still, I thought it was a good set for us fans. Smiler

What was the bit about the web & cameras between Neil and Nick near the start. I couldn't quite hear that due to people yaking in my ear. Frowner

Unfortunately, I think the band underestimated the hostility of some in the crowd. If they had it to do over again, I think they might've elected to go with more of the high-energy numbers. Liam cracked me up, by the way.

On the other hand, they must've been aware that the American audience might at least be familiar with "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong", so included them in the setlist.

I was really impressed with how Neil fought through the bottle-throwing incident so quickly and how the band poked some fun at themselves and at the audience throughout the performance.

I also thought the band sounded excellent. It was a fine performance despite the distractions.

Wow! That WAS great! Big Grin

Lovely suits, fantastic music, not to mention very, VERY courageous. Such wonderful professionalism shown by our guys in light of some appalling crowd behaviour.

How fantastic was it to see Liam up there going crazy? Wink

You got it right Kelly, absolutley gotta love the net for making this possible.

I agree with everyone else here about the crowd. Jerks make me so mad! I wanted to kill them for yelling for them to get off the stage and throwing things.

Did I say it made me mad? I have to say most of the other acts at this event I personally feel were nothing I would be interested in so it makes sense that the crowd would act that way. Some people think if a song is a hit it isn't worth anything and that would include my ex-husband. One of the many things that I couldnt stand about him.

I am so glad they did those two warm up shows so they know they still have great fans in the USA.

Gotta get to bed.

Lorrie
