I almost forgot about it altogether! Didn't join in until half-way through DDIO. Got real cranky thinkin it was the last song lol Big Grin

Highlights were Silent House, Private Universe and Liam's Mid-air lunge at Neil Smiler

I can't believe the bottle was thrown during DDIO, especially after Friday night and the incident that also caused him to get the audience to start singing during the same song. I noticed smiles all around from the others. It's like bad karma. I can only imagine what was going on in his mind.

I too am glad I was at Fridays show and no regrets Coachella sold out, so I couldn't get tickets. Watching the webcast was much better and I must admit there did seem to be some awkward/uncomfortableness vibe I felt going on. Was that just me? How horrible for them to go on right before Rage Against the Machine. I'm sure Rage fans couldn't appreciate them, just like most Frenz probably wouldn't appreciate Rage. But that's what you get at a festival.

Just glad to see them again. And was it me, since Friday, did Neil dye his hair, or maybe it was just the lighting. My computer tends to be really dark.

that was an amazing performance, especially considering the audience seemed to be mostly stacked against them. Some people can be so rude but Neil & co took it well. Nick's typical dry wit & sending everyone up.

Good onya boys, it can't be easy playing a festival set like that when you know that most of the audience aren't there to see you. I heard some good singing along at times though, so I'm guessing our Frenz were in fine voice.

Set list for those who couldn't tune in:
    When You come
    World Where You Live
    Don't Dream It's Over
    Don't Stop Now
    Fall at Your Feet
    Silent House
    Private Universe
    Locked Out
    Something So Strong
    Better Be Home Soon

Highlights for me were Locked Out (Liam, you're a maniac, I loved it!), Private Universe (Mark went off) and Fall At Your Feet - one of my all time favourites.

But the absolute highlight was seeing my 2-year-old sitting on my lap quite clearly enjoying the music (yes, I know it's sappy).

Sound & picture quality weren't too bad, the occasional freeze for a second or so but this is the first time I've ever seen a live webcast of anything so I was impressed. I love this technology, to think I can sit in my loungeroom on a sunny Monday afternoon and "go" to CH concert....

At times like these a band knows who there true fans are. I could hear a small amount of cheering for Crowdie at the end of songs but it was nothing compared to what we would've done. Frowner

If Neil and Co. aren't the epitome of the consummate professional, then I don't know who is. Despite the jerk-offs in the crowd, they carried on with a fair bit of humor and grace and gave us fans one hell of a show.

I hope whoever threw that bottle got his/her lame ass dragged out of there and missed the entire rest of the festival.

I also hope any of our Frenz that were there were safe and sound.

It wasn't just you, I also felt that there was a bad vibe with the crowd tonight. This is why I really didn't want to go to Coachella. Plus I saw Rage once, and once was really enough for me.

I think CH could teach those Rage fans a thing or two about class.

The guys were great though, and Liam was such a hoot!! I hope he comes to Edmonton!!

Edited to add: I hope whoever threw the bottle had the misfortune of being surrounded in Frenz

Now let's not give credit where credit is NOT due . I personally don't feel there's anything TO appreciate about Rage Against the Machine.

Yeah, but CH fans would have shown some class

Yeah not a great crowd for them. Pretty sure the stage monitors weren't working, which would have unsettled the band too. The next act (Damian Rice) has only JUST started his set and I'm guessing it's the monitor problem they couldn't sort out.
Hope the rest of the crowds are better. Hyde Park should be different. Pretty sure Rage aren't on the bill!! Smiler

Steve, this is one of those moments where irony is so thick...

Rage actually reunited (the two main guys) at a festival my *brother* co-organized in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. They *offered*, I think, to play for my brother's organization because they believe in the justice of the cause (and it *is* just). So while I just don't love their music, I really respect Rage's political sophistication and commitment.

If anyone's interested, the organization my brother co-founded is called the Coalition of Immokalee Workers--great website, very informative. Scooped the world by having the two leads of Rage reunite two weeks *before* Coachella for a huge crowd.

Just way too ironic that their *less* sophisticated fans tried to ruin the show by the reuniting guys *I* love!

I don't know, but can't imagine Rage would condone that sort of behavior from its fans. As has been said previously, we know how CH fans would've acted if the tables had been turned, however. Cool

Tremendously unfortunate to have had to play before Rage . . .

That was just brilliant - fabulous setlist, made my day (at work).

Hope they do play Live Earth in Australia - the crowd in Sydney SHOULD give them a brilliant reception.

I was in awe with what they did in the situation. On the other hand, I kind of wonder why they went for Coachella in the first place. I've been listening to the Coachella bands over the weekend, and I might be getting old, but most of the music I heard was rather, ah, how do a say it nicely.....I won't try....

Good on you Neil....~~!~~!!

Can't help but agree there. Smiler Perhaps the Coachella crowd could tune in and take some notes on how to behave.

Wonder how long they'd get on stage there Lynda? hmmmmm
Just don't like sets being cut short.
Good to see Mark with a huge grin on his face, now what was that for? I've already forgotten.

How does one get into the chat room, nf addict? I asked before-is it just a private party that if you don't know about it, you're not invited? I'm a dues-paying FOTE and everything...
