So then I thought, maybe what's needed is a touch of that bravado that is rarely made quite explicit, but that one sometimes senses simmering just under the Finny exterior -

I've finally hit on the perfect title -"Obscure". That way, when Neil comments years from now about something being "an 'Obscure' track", it'll save us all from 63 pages of semantics arguments. Razzer

Some of these RULE!!

How about -

Cloud Foundation

Indistinct Shimmer

Greatest Hits Volume 6

We're All Up For Knighthoods
"We're All Up For Knighthoods" is cracking me up! Big Grin
And Songs for Cornelius ain't bad, but a bit too Neil-centric, perhaps.

You know what adidasman? All kidding aside - that IS a perfect album title. It works on several levels - from embracing the supposed knocks against Neil's abstract lyric imagery, to a humble wink at the band's current world profile. Plus I think it just sounds great! It's just kind of a cool, mysterious-sounding title. A very good fit for the band's off-kilter mystique.

So I don't know if you were at all, on any level, serious - but you got my vote regardless!

I'd love to hear the title track, too. Sounds awash in waves of chords and slow thundering drums. Or that could just be me.

Whereas, I'm not sure even Neil could do much for the title track of We're All Up For Knighthoods.

I really think Perfectchord has hit the proverbial nail on the head with These Four Walls!

It's just so very appropriate and it's totally won me over! Big Grin

Let's hope the right people are taking notice.... Wink

I say, let the groudswell of public support for "Obscure" begin here and now. I won't even charge the band to use it. (I will insist on playing and singing on the record, though. I have to seize this golden opportunity...)

But it's a line from a song that's over twenty years old - do we see Neil going back to something that old as a title for their new LP? I don't. It sounds good on its own, without the relationship to the first album, but there's not a chance in the world they'd use it.

How about a compromise - - "These Four Obscure Walls" :-)

Huh. I didn't even realize it was a line from a song.

Man. I can't get it without googling it!

Well, "Time on Earth" was an old, obscure song (although not as old), but they had no problem using it. I think our man Neil appreciates a good turn of phrase no matter how old it is.

But ToE (the song) was never released. "These Four Walls" is a line from a song that they perform nearly every show...

I think "The Only Way To Go Is Forwards" has a good ring to it (although i don't really like the song). He mentioned the new songs were going to be more 'adventurous' and this name has a sense of adventure to it. "Either Side of The World" could work aswell, although they may pull a "Woodface" or "Temple of Low Men" on us and call it something completely random.
