I most object to Snow Patrol appearing in the list. One of the best bands to come out of UK for years.

......and it brings me relief

I saw them live in '07 and they were very impressive. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. They really took the moment and made it theirs. Great live band.

I'm kind of into Snow Patrol these days too. I got "Up to Now" for an early Christmas gift, and so far I like it pretty well. I don't think they or CH belong on this list. :P

I'm not really into Nickelback (though I don't mind a couple of their songs), but I don't know what it is about them that inspires such deep loathing.

As for Snow Patrol, don't they sing Chasing Cars? I actually love that song. I don't know if I know any of their other songs or not. I hardly know who sings what anymore!

Laughs at your hostility.

And it's 'poll'.

I know it's "poll", sometimes I just don't pay enough attention when I'm typing. And excuse me for being displeased when my favorite band is allegedly "voted" one of the 15 worst bands. Especially when the "poll" (and comments on the poll page) actually show the opposite. Many voters, like us, were just confused about why the creators of this poll would include a band as good as CH. The fact that they got almost no votes shows that CH still has a decent reputation as a great band.

Also, Snow Patrol is pretty great. I saw them in a tiny club in Providence, RI back in 2005. It was hot as heck but they put on a great show. Can't believe they managed to fit 5 guys on to the world's smallest stage. They don't belong in this poll either.

For me, personally, I loathe their song writing - predictable rhyming schemes. And all of their stuff sounds the same.

I hate that moment when the guys take off their guitars and Matt throws the sticks into the crowd and there is no more...for tonight anyway.

And the lyrics are complete drivel. And Chad Kroger (sp?) could scrub toilets with his voice.

I would love to get in on the Nickelback hatin'! They're right up there with Aerosmith and Creed as my top three least favorite bands of all time.

I think Beajai's opinion is pretty well summed up by this clip:

Perhaps some of you are familiar with this, it plays two popular Nickelback songs side by side. The similarities are rediculous.

Well, personally, I don't mind the rough rocker style singing voice. I actually like How You Remind Me, but I think Someday might have been the very next single, or at least soon after, and the similarities were undeniable. It certainly put a damper on any initial interest I may have had. As I was listening to the youtube mashup, I was imagining how Photograph would fit as well LOL. Anyway, I supposed that makes them a dull band, but I guess it takes more than that to inspire loathing me in me.

nickelback is the WORST band of all time....and I am shocked that they actually win awards in abundance. (shows the state music is in nowadays and also the taste of music here in Canada and U.S.) I never watch or respect those awards shows any longer because of it....Grammy's and Juno's.

The fact too that they ignore great Finn music makes me even more angry. I think Time on Earth could have been voted for a few awards around the world. Neil Finn's solo's too.

I am happy to ignore any form of poll now. Why, Macca...why?

Yours disgruntled.

After Macca's performance on the cash factor,my wife (a music teacher)was inundated with requests from her pupils to learn how to play 'drive my car'.I would say it's actually a good thing for someone like him to go on and show the youth that there IS good music out there.

- agreed! What we need for the new series is a NF-themed programme!

My daughter has got into loadsa different music through watching X Factor.......JLS, Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis to name but three artistes!

Actually we did have a good discussion the other day re: Olly Murs performance of 'We Can Work It Out' and how he'd copied Stevie Wonder's cover, rather than the original!

That wasn't really what I was annoyed at, gents. I can see where you are coming from regarding kids finding out about it, didn't think of that advantage. So, maybe Neil should get on X Factor?

The thing is I don't like the idea of the x factor at all.I don't mind more sort of vague talent/variety shows - but for pop/rock music in particular,I think musicians should develop their careers in a more real and organic way.The over saturation of reality TV does my head in.Unfortunatley it is a fact of life, and from that point of view it's good to see Macca on playing some 'real' music for the people who don't know any better!

As for Neil or Crowded House - It would be great for their exposure,as like it or not, this is what the masses are watching.
