Ok, I first saw Crowded House on the Woodface tour at Nottingham Royal, we had to travel 45 miles to get there, but it was well worth it, the next time was Hyde Park, travelled 200 miles and it was awesome, so much so We went to the Nottingham arena gig(travelled 10 miles), a good gig, but not so awesome,(arena gigs have all the atmosphere of a funeral parlour IMHO), this time we're going to Manchester Apollo, roughly equidistant from Birmingham,(75 miles) but a more intimate venue, so I'm hoping for another awesome gig, naturally I'd prefer a Nottingham Royal gig, but you can't always get a gig in the venue of choice, sometimes it's better to travel, it can make the gig more special...

Agreed - last time round Brighton + overnight stay. This time - Plymouth, whilst away on holiday (luck, not planned - holiday booked last October).

Gig in East would be good as well though!

OT wander alert:

Wow. A Crowdies fan from Kirkby in Ashfield! I can't believe you didn't list Sherwood Pines amongst your list of CH gigs... Now THAT was a night! Right in my (former) back yard (did I ever mention that before??!! Smiler )

Good to see you here, BobE! Big Grin

I missed the Sherwood Pines gig, as SWMBO refused me permission to party, (plus I was on the dole and skint at the time)...

Frankly, I'd go without food to afford to get to a CH gig..

I'm from Nottingham - I'm not 'miffed' about CH not playing here this time. We've had it lucky most tours.

Favourites... oooh, probably Sherwood Pines, and Outsider festival in Aviemore.
