Sacred Cow![]() |
I was so lucky my mum let me go to their concert at Festival Hall in Melbourne 1975 with my older sister. Absolute madness, couldn't see a thing, couldn't hear a thing and Molly Meldrum stopped it half way cause we were getting abit out of hand. Andy Gibb was the support - all for the outrageous price of $7.00 or so. There was always this story about Ross Wilson helping my dad get a place in the queue for tickets - so many years ago now, might have to see if that were true! every form of refuge has it's price..... |

Mike McCarteney (though he had a pseudonym I think). And Liverpudlian poet Roger McGough. Can't remember the other guy. |

The first album I ever had bought for me was Adam and the Ants "Prince Charming" when we got out first ever record player and mum and dad let me and by brother choose an album each (he got an Abba one).
The first album I ever bought with my own money was Deacon Blue's "Raintown" which cost me £4.99 and was played to death. "Who stabbed the haggis? Nick Seymour stabbed the haggis" N Finn, Glasgow SECC, 30/11/07 |

That's What I Call Love![]() |
The first album I bought was Get The Knack by The Knack. I was in grade eight and took the train to Toronto by myself to visit a friend who had moved there. Clearly, I was grown-up enough to make my own musical choices, and I bought that record at the old Sam The Record Man on Yonge St.
My-yi-yi-yi-yi whoa! Ma-ma-ma my Sharona! (hope that doesn't get stuck in your head for too long) |

Oh my Andy Gibb as support Kazzie, how cool would that have been, if you could hear him that is.
Bletherskite, did you get into Adam and the Ants back catalogue? Loved 'Beat Me'. Think I had to buy that single as an import. From memory there was alot of screaming at the concert, similar to Kazzie's experience with BCR. ____________________ people hear what they see |

Abba: "Arrival", early 1977, I think (I must have been nine).

I think the first album (well, CD, my family has never had a record player in my time because my parents were early adopters of the cd format - they left all their vinyl in Malaysia) was Of Someday Shambles by Jebediah, an indie band out of Perth. I must've been 12 or 13 and had money from a birthday or chinese new year or babysitting because we didn't get pocket money
