Poker songs, eh? There's a real doozy - I don't play poker! But if I did, this is what would be in the CD player:

1. Grateful Dead - Truckin'
2. The Eagles - Desperado
3. Frank Sinatra - Luck Be A Lady
4. Elvis - Viva Las Vegas
5. The Whitlams - Blow Up The Pokies

There! Nyah nyah! Smiler

Next up...Top Five Pre-Gig Warm-Up Songs.

Top 5 Pre-Gig Warm-Up Songs

(Not sure whether this means "songs audience members hear in the theater before the band starts," or if it means "songs musicians play to warm up with before they go on"...those could be two different lists.)

If skippy meant situation #1, then...
1. Free Falling by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
2. Essence by Lucinda Williams
3. Synchronicity II by the Police
4. There's Good Rockin' at Midnight by the Stray Cats
5. Yellow by Coldplay

If skippy meant situation #2, then...
1. Mustang Sally
2. Honky-Tonk Woman (Stones cover)
3. Walking on Sunshine (Katrina & the Waves cover)
4. Suffregette City (Bowie cover)
5. White Wedding (Billy Idol cover)

Now...Top 5 songs that would play over the opening credits during a movie about your life:

Brown-Eyed Girl- Van Morrison (Seems like a good choice if the first scene was me walking through my fabulous Manhattan or San Francisco neighborhood on a beautiful autumn day, with shop keepers waving from their shops and friends on bikes ringing their bells as they ride by. City girls in the movies always seem to live in really cool apartments in really cool neighborhoods and they are always warmly greeted by everyone in their neighborhood. I guess 'cause they're so sassy.)

Ask- The Smiths (Just seems like good opening credit music.)

Bangs- They Might Be Giants (The sweetest love song ever for geeky girls like me.)

Driving Me Mad- Neil Finn (I totally identify with the deadline thing.)

Walking on the Spot- CH (Well, I just love this song.)

Not The Girl You Think You Are would be really easy to waltz to.

Other Finn songs like As Sure As I Am, How Will You Go, Into The Sunset, and maybe even Mary Of The South Seas are waltzable too. Anything with a 3/4 feel really.
