Suede - Dog Man Star (the entire album live)

My favourites are still Daddy's Speeding and This Hollywood Life.

Suede's last five concerts before they broke up were their five albums played live in chronological order.

I've just been listening to a new Colin Barley song. Hot off the press, erm uke.

Also enjoying the Kitaro "Sacred Journey of Ku-Kai" series. It's real Ku-Kai.

When not cleaning my wind-thunder mirror, i am also enjoying Blue Alert by Anjani & I Will Break Your Fall, by Fernando Saunders.

War - U2: The new remastered edition. Vintage stuff back when this band was hungry and more passionate.

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake - Small Faces: Finally got around to buying this album. Money well spent!

The much overlooked second album...

Ogdens' 'tis a good album eh Dazz...one of the more enjoyable '60s, err, concepts. Is that War remastered with the bonus disc?

Black and White Night Roy Orbison

Love that... recorded live at The Troubadour in LA. Backup singers: kd lang, Bonnie Raitt and Jennifer Warnes. On keys, Elvis Costello... Some great guitar guests make for some gorgeous jams on Go,Go,Go (Down the Line) and Oh Pretty Woman, which is kind of a sucky pop song but which turns into a massive jam.

Roy is in great voice... it gives me goosebumps in In Dreams.

It is good. His last album Mystery Girl is fantastic too (came out about the same time didn't it?).

The Big O was in fine voice even at the end. 'She's A Mystery To Me' from that album is a beautifully sung ballad (written by Bono and The Edge for those keeping score).

Ogdens... is a brilliant album. What's the bet Blur stole half their ideas from these geezers? Where would Britpop be without it? (Okay I'll give you that they'd still have Ray Davies...)

War is the deluxe edition. The remastering is superb, it's done what the Split Enz remasters should have done (ie. clean crisp sound without resorting to remixing and no over-compression!). The bonus disc features the relevant B-sides plus the original 12" mixes (some which are interesting!) as well as a previously unreleased track "Angels Too Tied To The Ground" and 1999 remixes of "New Year's Day" (from this DJ's point of view will come in handy!). I've heard the bonus material for War is not as good as the bonus discs for the first two albums which has me salivating at the thought.

Yes this DVD is absolutely brilliant, as is Roy Orbison. What songs, more importantly what a ****in voice! If none of you have watched this then do something about that now. the 5.1 DTS mix is one of the best surround mixes I have ever heard, almost a showcase for the DTS home theatre system.

Mystery Girl is also an excellent album, as was his work with The Travelling Wilburys. It's a shame the silly bugger had to pass away before he reaped the rewards of his comeback. The again he died while he was on top and in a strange way, that seems only fitting a man of his stature.

On the deluxe edition of Volume One and Three of TTW, I think it's Tom Petty who says to Roy Orbison "You know you're the best singer in the world" or words to that effect. Orbison simply looks at Tom Petty and says "yeah I know". Classic moment.

Well, yeah, the War bonus tracks are mainly just the remixes.

The bonus discs for Boy and October finally mop up all the various stray singles, B-sides, etc, plus a few previously unreleased demos and live recordings. Most notable is the inclusion of the '79 debut record 'Three' EP, on CD for the first time.

I probably won't buy any of these deluxe editions, but I am tempted!

Next in line for an overhaul: Under A Blood Red Sky album (no bonus tracks) and Live At Red Rocks video (the full concert on DVD bar one song)...

Just listening to the new Byrne & Eno album, the new Dandy Warhols album, & the latest Kompakt Total 9 compilation. Also enjoying a bit of Buddy Holly.

Buddy Holly is a legend. Fantastic songs.

I've been listening to a few 50s hits recently, things like Who Put the Bomp, Chantilly Lace, Mr Sandman, Ring of Fire, those sorts of things.
