Just got back from the David Byrne show in Auckland. Got a heck of a surprise when David started talking about how Japan has national treasures and then said "you have a national treasure who live just down the road"....and then on walked Neil in a white outfit like David.
Neil did a song with David, though I've got no idea what it was. Sorry  . The lyrics had something to do with heaven from what I can remember. |

Oh. My. God. That would have been amazing!! Two of my favourite performers on stage at the same time!! That is not fair Black_and_White!!! I am so jealous!!!

I really wanted to see David Byrne when he was in Brissie... Sadly I did not have the funds for my ticket and I went to see some family that weekend too. *sighs*

Wow - how fantastic would that have been! Saw the David Byrne concert here in Sydney last week and it was excellent, but if it had been graced by Neil's presence too...like Chook said - OH MY GOD...

Wow, that's fantastic! Saw David Byrne the other night, what a show. Would have gone to both, but the second night clashed with the second Leonard Cohen concert.

Fantastic!
I saw the David Byrne at Hamer Hall in Melbourne last Tuesday. Absolutely top show, music, dancing and choreography. Unique among the rock shows at the moment. |

That is great! Right before I read the headline "Neil performs with David Byrne", my lovely wife was singing "I Can Feel My Lifetime Piling Up"- a Talking Heads song, ya know. And I've been listening to a lot of Talking Heads lately, particularly the Eno years (in anticipation of the new U2 album). Heaven is an awesome song. Very Eno. C'mon Youtube for some footage of Byrne/Finn.....hmmm. That has a nice ring to it. ANOTHER Neil side project? One can dream.

I saw David Byrne on this latest tour and it was AMAZING! Heaven is one of my favorite T Heads songs. I would have loved to have seen this!!!

Sorry Pez, didn't take my camera to the venue. The security there is *really* strict about their camera policy. There was a guy in front of me with camera and the security would shine a laser pointer in his eyes every time they caught him taking a picture. There was someone behind me with an SLR with a zoom lens and she got told off several times by security mid show (and right in front of Liam, Elroy and Don McGlashan too ) |
