I'm with Kira. My response is lukewarm. While I love the idea of a giant Neil head staring at me, and I appreciate the talent of the artist, Neil's skin looks a little sallow (if anything, Neil's getting a bit ruddier with age) and his eyes aren't quite level (not Paris Hilton uneven, but not Neil Finn even either).

That said, I would happily hang it on my livingroom wall that is two stories high. I could probably doodle in the rest of the giant Neil. It could become a weird Mecca for Neil acolytes

It's clearly very well done, and I admire the artist's obvious skill and care in creation. I don't quite like the nose, though. It looks too big in proportion to the rest of his face.

Thanks Harbourgirl, I wondered what the Tim portrait looked like.

He looks like sort of a squashed Sean Penn.

I like it best when i cover up the right side of Neil's face, which is the left side of the picture. Something is off on the other side....like it is slightly out of proportion or something.

I like it but I do agree with those who see it as slighty off - not quite there.

I doubt it will win the main prize though. It's too straight for that. They always pick a real "arty" type don't they?
