Radiohead's Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway and The Cribs' Johnny Marr have all contributed to 'The Sun Came Out' - a double album of original material that will raise money for Oxfam.

The album, co-ordinated by Neil Finn, will be released on August 10.

Drummer Selway makes his recorded vocal debut on the record on the song 'The Ties That Bind Us'.

Selway made his live singing debut at a gig in Auckland, New Zealand in January at a gig organised in conjunction with the project.

The album also sees collaborations between Marr and Wilco's Jeff Tweedy on 'Too Blue', and KT Tunstall and Neil Finn of Crowded House on 'Hazel Black'.

'The Sun Came Out' tracklisting will be:

Disc 1
'Too Blue'
'You Never Know'
'Little By Little'
'Learn to Crawl'
'Black Silk Ribbon'
'Girl, Make your Own Mind Up'
'Run In The Dust'
'Red Wine Bottle'
'The Ties That Bind Us'
'Reptile'
'Bodhisattva Blues'
'What Could Have Been'

Disc 2
'All Comedians Suffer'
'Duxton Blues'
'Hazel Black'
'Riding The Wave'
'The Witching Hour'
'Over And Done'
'Change of Heart'
'Don't Forget Me'
'Long Time Gone'

Oh the irony... I'm seeing Wilco in Scandinavia then, so will have to wait till I get home. Patience isn't my strong point, but I guess I've waited this long a few more weeks won't matter.

I think Seven Worlds Collide is the name of the band and The Sun Came Out is the name of the album.

That's what I thought! But it's a rum sort of press release that trumpets the album name and omits to name the band.

Little by Little (Sharon and Neil Finn)
Learn To Crawl (Ed OBrien/Jonny Marr/Neil Finn/Liam Finn)
Bodisattva Blues (Ed Obrien/Liam Finn/Neil Finn)
All Comedians Suffer (Neil Finn)
Hazel Black (KT Tunstall/Neil Finn)

I believe he has more writing credits than anyone else, but it's still not that much, just 5 of 24 tracks.

Thanks!

Clearly much more of a true collaboration than the other 7 Worlds Collide, which was already too little Neil for my tastes. I'm really not a fan of the other performers on this album, save KT Tunstall, so it's hard to get as excited as I feel I ought to be.

Odds are I'll still pick it up . . . or maybe buy just those five tracks.

I humbly have to agree with Comp there...I was hoping for more Neil performances too. I was sort of hoping he do a One Nil type of album where he records with a whole bunch of guests. But the guests seem to be writing the majority of the record.

No biggie, we have a new CH album due this year Smiler

Although my interest in this project begins and ends with the Finns, I have enough love and respect for Neil to at least give the artists he's called on a chance to strut their stuff.

I'll pick this up and give all of it a listen. Who knows what good stuff it'll get me into... Smiler

Don't forget it's a charity album. A real human & musical adventure. Those musicians spent their Christmas holidays by recording songs far away from home. We don't have to be only focused on Neil's tracks. The whole Seven Worlds Collide project involved Neil. To buy the double CD is the best way to respect his complete engagement.

I you figure you're only interested in the Neil tracks think of it as a donation to charity that comes with a bonus of 5 NF songs!
