We here at www.thefinnexperience.com.au would like to know what you think would be the best song to open The Australian Neil Finn Tribute Show.

Take into account we want Maximum "WOW" factor from the momment the show starts. So please dont just say your personal favourite song. There is another thread for that one.

When you reply please give a short explanation as to why you chose the song that you chose.

Thankyou,

Greg

Greg,

Recurring Dream - stunning as an opener at the Royal Albert Hall last December, and as CH is Mr Finn's current project....

Other than that something by James Blunt.....not Wink

GBass,
King Tide is Neil Solo, so it probably will set the mood better than any CH or SE song would for a Neil Finn Tribute Show.
Also, the fact that the song starts off slow and kind of quiet and then builds into the crashing guitar/drum/bass chorus is one of the most WOW moments in any Finn song.
It’s a keeper dude, go for it!

I agree with She Will Have Her Way... I find it impossible to keep still to that song. And it just makes me smile again after TWT (which I LOVE but can't listen to it without crying). Or maybe I just wish I was Miss 50ft from the clip Wink

Would never have thought King Tide until Brando brought it up but I reckon that would rock as an opener.

- always thought of SWHHW as more of a set closer/first encore but could work.

Just seen the band at Thetford - When You Come worked well and also used a lot as an opener by NF on solo shows in 2000/01

Hole In The Ice is a good one too, both SWHHW and Hole In The Ice have that wall of sound feeling that would open a concert with a bang!

I personally wanted it to be Can't Carry On.

The massive intro sample going through the PA with complete blackout would grab everyones attention then bang the song kicks in

Any thoughts?

Wow I had never thought of Private Universe as an opening song.

That would set a great mood.
