Thank you, Hunter!

I am taking on a bit of a new challenge by interviewing a real music journalistt, Michael Azerrad. Michael chronicled an often overlooked era in music history (the post-punk movement in the '80's and early '90s) in his book "Our Band Could Be Your Life." He's possibly known better for his official biography of Nirvana titled "Come As You Are" and also for co-producing the recent documentary culled from hours and hours of his interviews with Kurt Cobain "About A Son." I'm both nervous and excited for the opportunity to interview him. I'd love to be doing an updated interview with Neil sometime soon, but naturally, I won't until there is a new Crowded House CD out AND IF he agrees to speak with me again - that interview took nearly two months to make happen.

Speaking of which, and I probably shouldn't admit it here, but without saying too much I finally got some negative feedback for "doing" the Neil Finn interview. And oddly enough, in that critical information I was compared to Cameron Crowe's semi-autobiographical character in "Almost Famous" except the context was imparted as being a bit more negative than positive. Funny how people see things. I didn't let it bother me, I'd not do it differently had I to do it over again. I'm learning a lot I never expected to learn. But you folks are the best, I appreciate the support, it not only means a lot but it helps my confidence and inspires me to do more. (I'm also learning there is no shortage of people willing to take the fun out of things, or zap your pride in something you've done). It is too bad all my interviews can't be as significant as Neil Finn, but I have some good ones I'm working on getting.

Again, thank you all for your support and constructive words. It means a lot.

You were criticized for the mere fact of *doing* the interview with Neil (ie whoever didn't approve of the person you were interviewing) or you were criticized for the way you *did* the interview?

That's a real shame because I really enjoyed reading through your interview with Neil and also enjoyed your writing style and the questions you put together. Your questions were obviously well thought out and I'm sure Neil was under the impression that you did your homework on him/career for sure.

If it's any comfort, I'm sure that to the majority of fans who accessed your interview via Frenz Forum--we considered it a worth while effort, thank you for being so determined to get the interview and how you kept following through til you landed it and wish you the best of luck in the future.
