"Late In Rome" was in Enzology, only it was Neil solo on piano as support act for Split Enz, Wellington 1976. "Cry Baby Cry" wasn't included.

Nah . . . Not nuts.

But with a new album and new b-sides you'll have to updated it!

Ah, archiving!

So, I guess what needs to be added by way of Neil-related rarities is:

1. spirit of the stairs (CH demo from Farewell DVD)
2. instinct (CH demo from Farewell DVD)
3. spirit of the stairs (TWT pre-release)
4. Tell Me C'Mon (Finn Brothers b-side)
5. Lost Island (new CH b-side)
6. Stare Me Out (new CH b-side)

what else?

7. Something To Do (? Tim sings lead on this one, but Neil does backing vocals and gets a co-writing credit with the other Enz folk)

I guess we can't count the Enz remaster bonus tracks . . .

These days I'm just waiting to see what the CH box set will have on it ... will the songs count as rarities once they've been commercially released? I don't consider anything on Afterglow a rarity but I do consider the bonus songs of the Enz box sets to be "rare" enough to count.

Where can one find a copy of the songs Neil did on the Andrew Denton CDs? I am in the US, can't find the CDs on the net so I was hoping someone would have a trade or copy of a CD they would share. Anyone?

That's actually the instrumental sounds of the Stones' recording of Buddy's song. I quote Andrew Oldham from Time is on our side:
quote:
Although it was a Buddy Holly song, I considered it to be like the first song Mick and Keith wrote, in that they picked the concept of applying that Bo Diddley thing to it. The way they arranged it was the beginning of the shaping of them as songwriters. From then on they wrote. At that time, Mick, Keith, and I lived together. They were into the last half bottle of wine and going through, it was one of those magical moments. When Keith played that to me in the front room you could actually HEAR the record in that room. What basically made the record was that whole Bo Diddley acoustic guitar thrust.
So there you have it - CH playing Buddy Holly's song with a Stones flavor!

Buddy Holly's version has the "Bo Diddley" beat to it, it wasn't anything Keith or Mick did. They pretty much played it the way Buddy did. I know Buddy is not on everyone's playlist, but he doesn't get the credit he deserves for the incredible things he did in his short but highly prolific career.

I'd like to know as well. I do know that this song appears on the album Andrew Denton's Musical Challenge, but I haven't had any luck finding an available copy unless I want to pay a fortune for an import from overseas.

Maybe the powers that be should consider officially releasing a disc of Finn rarities?

"Sexual Healing" can be heard on Neil's MySpace page, but not downloaded. That's how I became aware of the song itself, but still can't find the CDs anywhere. Can someone let me know where I can find the CDs?
